We were in Hong Kong for a family trip. There were six of us in two adjoining rooms on the Executive Club Level. The rooms were excellent and the use of the Executive Club Lounge was a very big plus!
The staff was very helpful. The front desk provided helpful directions and ideas on places to go. The Club Lounge staff (especially Jennifer) made every trip to the Lounge a joy.
The breakfast buffet had something for everybody and helped get our morning off to a great start.
The location of this property is great! It is close to shopping and public transportation.

The welcoming service is warm and offered tea is very nice. Various breakfast option makes the stay comformtable. Strongly recomend this hotel to friends who are not sure about the choice.

Location not particularly convenient; entrance a bit hidden--far better to add a secondary entry point on Bao'an Road.
Hotel and room very elegant & well-designed--even better than IC, Indigo & CP in China, which are better than those in the UK or US to begin with. Front-desk staff very courteous.
Which makes one wonder why food quality is sub-Hualuxe: roughly at Holiday Inn level. With few guests for a new hotel, breakfast food quantity & variety can be rightly cut to reduce wastage; there were too many mediocre dishes (especially dim-sum & rice rolls), nothing memorable in quality (EVEN has better-quality breakfast, not to mention IC, Indigo & CP).
Reduced executive lounge benefits pose a real issue. PM tea is fine, but happy hour is limited to 1 bowl of noodles with a "randomly assigned" cold dish with NO choice; there are varieties one may not eat (e.g. chicken's feet, spicy lotus root). In IHG China hotels, happy hour is a mini-buffet where (1) free choice is a basic principle; (2) we can eat to the full. I have never wasted food in my life, but the above points are basic logic. I've stayed at HI Shenzhen Nanshan; with a lounge under decoration, they maintained a mini-buffet on 1/F. I just stayed at CP Zhongshan Wing On city; with very few guests one night, they offered a small menu with choice, and even the main dish could be reordered (no wastage). Hualuxe's happy hour is unworthy of its brand. The lounge can be closed until it makes better sense to reopen, but there is a smarter, less miserly way to maintain standards. As a last resort, even cancelling pm tea and doing a better-quality happy hour mini-buffet makes better sense.

First stay at CP Guangzhou. Room was good. Checkin OK. Housekeeping good.
- When checking out, we wanted to go to Foshan & seeked one of the Concierge staff’s (tall & slim guy) advice. - He said not all taxis go to Foshan & taxi fares could cost RMB500-600 to Foshan as the taxi driver would deviate and take a longer way there. - Concierge then encouraged us to let him book a car via DiDi and asked us to pay him RMB200 to cover the ride & tolls! - I then challenged him to say that we could the taxi driver directly upon arrival in Foshan but the Concierge said the only was is to pay the taxi driver through the Conceirge’s DiDi app account! - I refused and proceeded to ask the first taxi in the Crowne Plaza queue, and he agreed to take us to Foshan! - I then complained to the front desk officer (a lady) on what the Concierge tried to do - ie make a quick buck from me! - but she defended the Concierge staff and said that I could only pay through the Concierge’s DiDi app account! - Upon checking with other DiDi users, I found out that DiDi drivers could be paid directly and not necessarily thru the app. - this attempt to make money from Crowne Plaza’s guests is totally disgusting and very unbecoming. - I am a Platinum Elite IHG guest, and a precious Royal Ambassador status member, and have never come across such behaviour, - My stay in Crowne Plaza Guangzhou was from Dec 26-29, Room 2514.

The pillow is too soft and feel not good, hope replace it with better ones to improve the experience. The shower head is so old with only one type of method. It should be upgraded to the high level of option.
