I have been staying at the InterContinental Guangzhou Exhibition Center since it grand opened in 2018. Now, whenever I go to Guangzhou, I will definitely stay at this hotel. This hotel has a bright and spacious lobby, clean rooms and great views. The service in the executive lounge is excellent, and the scenery outside is also first-class. Happy Hour food was also very good. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets in the restaurant on the second floor are also delicious, with a wide variety of dishes.
The location looks remote, but the environment is very good. You can walk to the Guangzhou Tower along the river, and the trail is spacious. The area is also very lively, with big shopping malls and restaurants nearby. It is very easy to call a taxi. Taxis are queued in the waiting area, Didi usually arrives within 3 minutes, no longer than 5 minutes.
The hotel's service is excellent and the attitude is good. During this visit, I felt that most of the service people in the executive lounge and concierge were very young. Although their attitudes were still very good, their service to solve problems was conservative. They didn't know much about advanced service methods, didn't know how to solve problems for guests, and didn't know how to give suggestions.
The most commendable thing is the Guest Relations Department, which has always made me feel heartwarming over the years. They have been very careful to deal with my various situations, from the arrangements before check-in to the services after check-in, all of which are first-class.
Lilian has been serving me for the past two years. I would like to give her special praise. She has always handled my affairs very well. Take this stay as an example:
1. My entry date changed frequently before real check-in and I couldn't be sure. She tried very hard to assist me every time I made a change. Including the room upgrade process, room type and location decision, and some requirements, such as the preparation of toiletries, all were prepared very well according to my preferences. To be honest, it’s very troublesome and I’m a little embarrassed myself.
2. During my last time stay (about 1 month ago), I accidentally left 7 dice cups and some dice in the room without even noticing. After I checked out, Lilian specifically notified me and saved these items within the hotel until I checked in again this time and then returned them to me.
3. For stay this time, 5,000 points were not credited to my account. Lilian has been helping me with the process, even during the Chinese New Year, this problem is solved quickly.
From pre-check-in to check-out, I was assisted by Lilian from the Guest Relations Department and I am very grateful to her.

First time staying at the intercon GS for a couple of years as have not been back to HK. We have stayed at other IHG hotels around the world and find we are often let down in comparison to the experience we always have at the Intercon GS.
The staff are fantastic and attentive, they come and greet us like we are family. The room was clean and well kept as always, and the food and drinks were to the highest standard as always.
We were shown around the new developments by Lars the F and B director, and were blown away by the new restaurants that look incredible.
Were pleased to see the team working in Tiffany’s were the same as always, looking after our every need, likewise in the new club lounge where we spent a great couple of evenings. John and the rest of the breakfast staff in ‘M’ were brilliant, and the updated breakfast buffet is definitely one of the best we have had at any hotel!
Mr Drummond is unlike any GM we have come across at other IHG hotels, he makes a point to come and have a chat whenever we stay, and makes sure we have the best vacation possible.
We are sad it will be a year until wile next return, but are looking forward to it already!

My wife and I keep coming back to the Grand Stanford Intercontinental year after year for the simple fact that for us our stays are always perfect. The location on Kowloon suits us (you can't get a view of Hong Kong island if you stay on the island!), and the Grand Stanford has exceptional views of the island. We love the walk up and down the promenade from the hotel to the Star Ferry, but we also love the back streets as we meander our way through the local shopping lanes. But what really makes our stay feel great every time we visit is that we have come to know and love the staff over the years including longtime stalwarts Mimi and Alex in the Club Lounge, but we like that the new staff too are not just good at their jobs but are wonderful people (Phoenix was terrific). The selection process seems to be top class, and staff have gone above and beyond call of duty for us.
The restaurants in the hotel also hit the mark. We love taking close friends in Hong Kong to the Hoi King Heen (superb Cantonese) and business partners to The Mistral (wonderful Italian). We can't count how many times we have returned to these restaurants, while still visiting the great many restaurants close by.
For years I stayed here for business purposes. Now I'm really appreciating what a great hotel it is for holidaying. In fact, my wife and I often go out of our way to include Hong Kong as a stop-over when our final destination may be somewhere else (often China, Japan or Europe from Australia).

The building is well maintained and very comfortable. The staff are really friendly. Only complaint is sometimes there is strong cigarette smell due to guests smoking in the room. The hotel is excellent.
