My first bad image on staying with IHG hotels, especially for the club service. Surprised to me , it’s not so friendly to family with kids, and I could not feel the service from staff with real kindness or respect.

I quite enjoyed during my stay in Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Jinsha during 11/01 - 07/02/25. My room was comfortable with sunshine in the afternoon - Many thanks for this arrangement by Miss Wu (Zheng-Ni). Especially thanks for Miss Zhang (Yue-Qing) who always exhibits enthusiasm and a willingness to help creates a welcoming atmosphere. This welcoming atmosphere made me have a good start in the morning though I was exhausted every day after I visited my Dad who is in Care Home.

The overall stay is fine. The front desk staff is nice. Breakfast is good for the room rate. But the room need high attention and improvement. The carpet surrounding the bed is very dirty, the carpet is not vacuum clean at all, making the room stay feel not comfortable. The pictures of the dirty carpet is provided to the front desk staff when I check out on 2005/02/05 morning. The room also missing remote control, the front desk staff arrange a remote control and the robot send to the room. The hotel cannot guarantee non-smoking room, although it is a non-smoking room.

The Hotel is in a good location near the Metro Station and bus stop. The service is great and the breakfast is very good. There are plenty of food options to choose from, and for a western it is very easy to make your plate (Something that is very difficult in Chinese hotels)

On the first day, the breakfast was not fresh, especially the watermelon can tell that was cut for long time, and the milk also not heated. On the second day breakfast, I saw a worker touch food with hand, it was so disgusting. When I finished breakfast back to room, I was locked in elevator, and it’s so horrible, I press alarm and the people inside tell me it’s normal just wait….and I press lots of buttons the elevator opened and I escaped, until I left the hotel, no one contacted me about this horrible accident and I saw no one come to fix until the end
