We had trouble communicating with staff since I do not speak Mandarin, though we were able to use a translate app. We had 3 rooms and 2 different reservations per room. I had the IHG agent notate that we prefer twin beds and asked that the reservations be linked so that we wouldn’t have to move rooms mid-stay. At check-in I made the same request. These requests were not honored despite the repeated requests. Despite the hiccups, we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were a good size, beds were comfortable, breakfast buffet was very good and offered variety. Free washer and dryers was a great benefit, though sometimes there was a wait to use them. Two negatives: the bathroom door was frosted glass, but still see-thru! The room doors were awkward…they banged shut very loudly and the alarm would sound if they weren’t shut within a a certain timeframe.

The general manager Mr Drummond provided a complimentary night for me because the drainage of the room was broken and the staffs didn’t fix it for 3 days in August 2024.
At first, I was so impressed with the arrangement and the greeting had been improved and the service was back to the level that IC Hotel shall have in a short period.
So, I thought maybe the manager had remarked greeting me. So the front desk was giving me a warm welcome and great hospitality for my identity. I’m so satisfied.
However, I’m so unhappy about making a simple mistake that texting the wrong name on the greeting card. To clarify, my name is MR LAW nor MR LAM. Please double-check the message before giving it to the customers no matter how busy you are. This is the basic respect for the customer.
Thus, please think deeply about making a reservation in IC Hong Kong and be prepared to face the same problem as mine.

Disappointing Stay at InterContinental Stanford Hong Kong

The first impression of this hotel was that it looked quite old. I have traveled extensively, but I felt that this hotel was not as well-maintained as other InterContinental hotels in Japan.
The breakfast restaurant was overcrowded, making it feel more like a tourist hotel than a luxury one. Additionally, the staff lacked warmth and friendliness, which was disappointing.
The harbor view itself was not bad, but since my room was in a corner, I couldn't enjoy a full panoramic view, which was a bit of a letdown.
During my stay in January, the temperature in Hong Kong was around 19°C (66°F). The hotel stated that the pool was heated to 23°C (73°F), but it was far too cold for anyone to actually swim. It wouldn’t take much effort to raise the water temperature slightly, yet the hotel seemed indifferent to such details.
Overall, this hotel falls short when compared to other IHG properties in different countries. I cannot recommend it. The hotel urgently needs to improve its service quality, train its staff to be more customer-friendly, and focus on better facility management.

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. The location was fantastic and the view of Hong Kong was spectacular. Just some of the amenities were Byredo toiletries and super comfortable robes. Highly recommend this property!
