Customer service the front desk were prompt, friendly and courteous. Room has one downfall. The room could have been more vibrant and refreshing if carpet were replaced with new and modernized colors / design. Carpet was just looked too old, too dirty and too dusty based on my many years of experiences in staying in Holiday Inn Express facilities at different locations and places.

An amazing awesome new InterContinental Hotel experience

We have stayed at many many InterContinental hotels around the world. This one ranks among the top three. The hotel design is beautiful and totally functional. The services and staffs were truly outstanding, friendly and efficient, way to go! We enjoyed our rooms very much, beautifully designed, totally functional in every detail and with a large bathroom and separate toilet. The bedding was very comfortable and the towels quality was very good (very rare even in 5 or 6 stars hotels/resorts). Overall we had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back next time in town. All future new or existing InterContinental Hotels can learn from this amazing new hotel.

The concierge and the club lounge staff are great but the higher level management team has a huge space for improvement

1.This is my 7th time to stay at the hotel since its opening. However, before, during and after the stay (6days,5nights) , many things happened and I believe it’s worth sharing.
2. The concierge team is great and the staff at the lounge are very perforessionally. They help me to take care of my VIP guests and their performances and caring of my guests make my friends feel well-cared.
3. However, the reason I only gave them 2 points at “service” is mainly because the “response and attitude” of the higher level management team. For instance, when the director, Linda Lin, responded to my phone call regarding a complicated issue: She called the told me she only had 5 minutes for the phone call and I responded to her that if there was only 5 minutes, it would not be a good time to discuss. However, she insisted on knowing the issue. After the short conversation, it is of course the issue is remained and that made me feel disrespected. That is why during my 6days stay this time, I told the club lounge staff, Manger Elyse, that I hope to talk to Director Linda Lin in person to solve the problem. However, no action is made at all during my stay. The attitude and the way she handling issue is not understandable and can’t be appropriated.
4. On 2/18, sound 12:30pm: The vice head manager, Simon, brings about 15 guests/outsiders to do the showroom/hotel tour at the club lounge. All of a sudden, the entire lounge becomes extremely noisy and no apology or heads-up notice is made to the guests who are at the lunge during that time. I still remember, besides myself, there are about 6-8 tables of guests who are staying and the hotel and using lounge service at that period. Simon did not to anything but just stood there or talked to the showroom guests from time to time. The way they handle this matter makes me feel disrespected and makes the club lounge which should be a quiet and graceful place but all of a sudden becomes a noisy market.
5. I have experiences staying at more than 150 international hotels previously. Therefore, IC-Taichung is not the most luscious hotel I have ever stayed, but it is the hotel that has the most elegant and self-centered higher level mangers of the management team. The basic attitude such as being “polite”and “respect each other” are not carefully carried. There is still a huge space for them to impove.
6 . I am not sure if I will come shortly due to their disrespected attitude.。
7.Since the terrible mistake, preparing a wrong cake, on 2/8 and the series of disrespectful issues performed by the hotel’s higher management team, I think I may not come back and stay at this hotel again shortly.
8. I hope your hotel and really take a closer look of my recommends and hopefully, the hotel can improve more and step by step.

This was my first stay at the IC Beijing Beichen and it was a very nice experience. I really enjoyed the beautiful suite with nice view of Bird's Nest and Watercube and appreciate the good IHG Rewards Club recognition provided by this property. Staff was very friendly, especially Ms. Sunny and her colleagues of the Executive Lounge did a great job in making me feel welcome throughout the stay. The afternoon tea and evening spread at the Club Lounge were delicious and nicely presented. The juice/smoothie station at the breakfast is a nice touch. I will be back on my next visit to Beijing!

The staff at check-in was better than those at check-out.. They didn't show any expression when I checked out. When I left, I asked about parking and they told me I could just leave (I think so, because they asked my car number when I checked in, so there should be no problem..).
But, when we leave, it was blocked at the exit and it was shown that we needed to pay a fee... It was not until we pressed the service bell next to it that the barrier opened and let us pass... It was a bad experience...
