I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Crowne Plaza Sanya Haitang Bay from February 13th to 17th, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The resort is beautifully situated by the beach, offering stunning views of the turquoise ocean and lush landscapes. The facilities were top-notch, with spacious rooms that were both luxurious and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the area. Large modern room with a huge balcony.
What truly made our stay memorable was the service, particularly from the Experience Ambassador, Polly. From the moment we arrived, Polly went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of. Her warm and attentive demeanor made us feel like valued guests throughout our stay. She provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining options, and even helped with any special requests we had, making us feel completely at ease.

Great time spent during my visit. Duty Manager, Ling, did a quick & good job in response to the problems I have encountered. The lady, Ah Miu, served as well in the breakfast area. She served us with courtesy & a very considerate manner.

This was my first time staying at the Crowne Plaza Shanghai. The hotel has a great location, nice surrounding and offers easy access to the city's must-see destinations. The food was also very good at the restaurant happy hour and breakfast buffet. From the front desk, the restaurant and hotel concierge, everyone was friendly, professional and always willing to assist, especially Catherine from the front desk and Tony from the concierge. It was a short overnight stay, but I had a very good experience staying in this hotel and looking forward to being back again.

Stunning Lobby, But Disappointing room Cleanliness and Issue

The lobby of this InterContinental hotel is stunningly designed, especially with the mini forest brought inside and the delightful sounds of birds chirping. It was truly a pleasant experience. The room had two beds, and both the beds and pillows were very comfortable. This was an upgrade as a Platinum member, though it wasn’t on a high floor. The décor had a “old money” style—quite luxurious—and the room was spacious. The bathroom had a good separation between wet and dry areas.
However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. It was quite frustrating and left a negative impression. I discovered used condoms and used tea bags scattered on the floor in different areas of the room. I reported this to the front desk, and their response was rather indifferent, simply saying they would clean it up, which they did, but nothing more. As a five-star hotel, I feel this is a significant oversight, and the way such incidents are handled could have been more professional and thorough.
While we didn’t want to be overly critical and chose not to press further, it still bothers me even a month after our stay. It’s an issue that left a lingering bad feeling.

I stayed for a week at this location in January 2025. I especially enjoyed the breakfast. There was a good variety of western options and eastern options. I enjoyed getting to try everything. A special thank you to Tina and Jane Lou for the coffee service. I enjoyed the surrounding areas as well.
