I recently had the pleasure of staying at Intercon Lijiang and while the hotel itself was wonderful, the real highlight of our experience was the outstanding service provided by Neiro. From the moment we arrived, Nero went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was smooth, comfortable, and memorable.
Traveling can be stressful, especially when adjusting to a new environment, but Nero’s warm welcome immediately put us at ease. He personally assisted us with settling into our room, making sure we had everything we needed and that we felt comfortable. Since I was traveling with my sister, his attentiveness and willingness to help made a huge difference in our experience.
One of the most remarkable things Nero did was provide oxygen tanks to help us adjust, which was incredibly thoughtful. This small but significant gesture showed his deep understanding of guests’ needs and his commitment to making sure we were comfortable from the start.
Beyond that, Nero handled so many details that made our trip effortless. He helped us book tickets for activities and transportation, ensuring that we had a well-organized itinerary without any hassle. Having someone so knowledgeable and proactive made exploring the city so much easier and more enjoyable. He had great recommendations and insider tips that we wouldn’t have found on our own.
Another standout service was his arrangement of dinner reservations at restaurants near the hotel. On some evenings, we got to enjoy delicious meals without the stress of finding a good place at the last minute. He carefully selected spots that suited our tastes and made sure we had the best dining experience possible.
Throughout our stay, Neiro’s kindness, patience, and professionalism shone through. He checked in on us regularly to see if we needed anything and always made sure we were comfortable. His willingness to go the extra mile truly set him apart from any hotel staff I’ve encountered before.

As a diamond elite member of IHG, this is my first ever review, and unrequested. The reason is simple: Alina!
Not going into all the details: The first staff we met when we arrived at the first time was Alina. She is simply a gem of the whole hotel team. We stayed one night and moved to another (equal or higher brand?) IHG hotel in the Hong Kong island for the convenience of sightseeing; however, we stayed there for only one night, cancelled the rest and moved back to this hotel where Alina has worked for seven years! As simple as that.
I have to be honest that the hotel does not offer the best facility, but Alina and team made our two stays a top notch! The warm smile and touching comfort offered by Alina and team is the lasting reason that we will come back next time in HK, I am sure.

Friendly and unfriendly club lounge staff, and a friendly concierge

During the happy hour at the club lounge reception, the Korean female staff kindly explained details about the restaurants and hotel facilities that were not mentioned during check-in. Thanks to the friendly service of the Korean female staff at the club lounge, the Filipino male staff, and the concierge team, I was able to forget the unpleasant experience with the unfriendly staff during check-in and check-out.

Club lounge staff with extreme differences / Friendly concierge

I didn’t receive information about the restaurant and facilities during check-in, but I was able to get detailed explanations from the Korean female staff at the lounge during happy hour. The Korean female staff, the Filipino male staff, and the concierge team were all very friendly, and their kindness made me forget the unpleasant experience I had during check-in and check-out.

I really enjoyed my stay here thoroughly. From the staff, to the meals, to the swimming pool to the room, all was super satisfactory.
Even though nobody spoke much English, they helped as much as they could using translation apps and we used sign language as well but as long as the communication went through, they delivered.
They were not stingy with water which is a huge plus and I really would stay here again. They really took care of me well.

We checked in late at 7pm arriving by taxi from High Speed Rail station. Immediately we were impressed with very high ceiling foyer. We were greeted at the front desk by a very warm and professional lady, Ms Lavie Yu. It was then my travel partner found out his wallet was missing. Ms Yu immediately sprang into action to inform the police who miraculously appeared within 10min. It was shocking to us as usually victims have to make report at the police station. Well thats another experience of China Speed and efficiency. What a great relief. Next Ms Yu texted the rmtaxu driver about the lost wallet. Walah in less than 30 min tge driver replied wallet was found at the back seats. We had expected our trip to Foshan would be ruined by the hassle over the lost wallet. The police took tgd report and printed a copy for my friend in the spot at tgd hotel. A big thank you to the super commitment of Ms, Lavie Yu. As for the hotel we were grateful to be upgraded to enjoy Club floor amenities. The ambience is pleasant with good view of the lake garden. Food was pretty good too with beer, wine and aperitif. All through out all the staff were warm, smiling, pleasant and helpful. Getting to the hotrl is easy as there is plenty of taxis around. Once again, a big Thank You yo Ms Lavie Yu.

This is one of best HIE I have stayed. Front desk Kiki was very friendly although I arrived late at 2 am. She recognized my IHG platinum status and offered me an upgraded room with a good city view. The room and bedding were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with a lot of variety. Staff in breakfast area was very nice. Will come back again if I travel to Xiamen.
