The summer time is a great time to come to South Lake Tahoe. Our location is convenient to be able to walk to the beach and for sightseeing, restaurants, shopping and gambling. We offer a free hot breakfast bar, available every morning starting at 6:30am. Take that into consideration when planning a trip into our town. For a great experience, make reservations today at our South Lake Tahoe hotel!
Lake Tahoe has always been a gathering place for people seeking peace, adventure and rejuvenation, the Holiday Inn Express, South Lake Tahoe is the perfect starting point to explore this idyllic location. During the Summer months, there is a wide variety of things to come see and do. The Lake is a great place to relax and spend quality time with friends and family or just the two of you. Heavenly Village: with the Gondola to take you to the top of the mountain reaching 10,000 plus feet to enjoy the sights of Lake Tahoe, take the zip lines or Gravity coaster. You could always just take a hike on all the trails available.
You can head to Stateline, the home of Nevada casinos like Harrah's, Harvey's and Bally's, and Hard Rock Casino, which is just half a mile from our South Lake Tahoe hotel. They have different music venues and shows available. Come join us here at the Holiday Inn Express where you're not just a room number, you are truly our guest.

Used to be great

We were not informed of rooftop construction prior to our stay. I made our reservations 3 months in advanced. I checked in on the IHG app and website several times prior to our trip, all I saw was that the pool and hot tub were closed for the season. I did not see any construction notice nor receive any advanced notice prior to us checking in. During check in I did not receive any notice. We found out about construction when we were rudely awakened by drilling and pounding at 7am sharp. My son came running to our bed crying because he thought it was an earthquake. When I’ve stayed with other hotel chains, they’ve emailed or called me ahead of my reservation to give construction/remodeling notices and provide me the option to cancel or reschedule my reservation.
Both showers in our room were slow to drain, leaving us standing in a pool of water each time we showered. There was hair on the walls of the shower stalls too, so I went and bought some Clorox for us to clean them prior to our use. We had a 4 night stay, and for 3 of those nights, we had to go to the front to get our key cards re-keyed; we were told they didn’t put enough days on them initially during the check-in process.
This used to be our go to place in South Lake Tahoe. It’s walking distance to the casinos and Heavenly shopping/dining area. This last stay was very unpleasant for our family vacation, and unfortunately I can not recommend this hotel anymore.

Awful experience

What an unfortunate experience, the worst since I have memory. The lady at the front desk at the momento that we arrive was extremely rude with a nule customer service attitude, and moking about that my english pronunciation with other customer that were at that moment at the front desk, is the worst of the worst experience that I have lived in IHG hotels. She was talking very fast and I asked nicely If she can repeat the information again she said "I said it twice, I will not say it at third time"... and it was related to the payment information, then she took my credit card and was furious that my credit card number does not appears in the plastic, that is out of my control!!! the bank issues the plastic cards in that way for security reasons, but I was not able to explain this to the old lady because she continue to yelling out and moving her hands expressing that she was very upset. I was with my family, along my little 3 kids and they saw this terrible service.

Three people in the room husband wife and son. There were no linens for the pullout couch. Had to go down to the front desk to get the linens and they had linens but no pillows for the pullout couch out!

The breakfast is one of the main reasons I stay at Holiday Inn and Suites. The breakfast horrible. Out of stock and inconsistent every day. Understaffed and unprepared. Guests spent more time waiting for food to come out than eating. My second stay at this location, and probably my last. The gym was out of sanitizer, and the equipment was not maintained well. Gym smelled moldy.

Disappointed

We've stayed at this hotel multiple times over the last 4 years while a family member was in school in Shreveport. The last 2 stays were disappointing. It feels like the hotel is not being adequately maintained. The entire facility felt dirty this last visit. The floor inside my room door was dirty and the tile floors throughout were sticky - especially in the elevators. We have one more trip planned to Shreveport but will likely stay somewhere else.
Be forewarned that the interstate noise is considerable. I realize that's not IHG's fault - it is what it is, but be aware if you're a light sleeper.
I will say that the breakfast was really good on this last stay.

First and last time I'll stay in a Staybridge Suites. I do a lot of business travel, and usually try to stay at a Holiday Inn or a Holiday Inn Express. The Staybridge Suites was close to my meetings, so I made a reservation there.
Worst shower in 40+ years of travel. Water trickled out. And there was no hot water over three days--shower or sink, the water was never more than lukewarm.
Bizarre full size coffee pot....the "4 cup" setting made just barely one mug of coffee--in other words, serves one person. The room only had one coffee packet, for "4 cups," so the coffee maker was essentially worthless.
Whoever designed the floor layout for the shower/toilet room never actually tried to shut the door. You actually had to step into the shower to shut the door, which swung within one inch of the front of the toilet seat. It was an extra wide "handicap" door, but no one in a wheelchair could ever get in and out of that bathroom.
The bed was ok.

We arrived to find our king size room was changed to a double queen and would not be changed at my request. Reached the room to find used bath cloth hanging in shower. We didn’t complain at this point but next morning found the coffee maker didn’t work and drain in bathroom didn’t drain. Still didn’t complain as no one at desk and we had to leave for the day. Also breakfast needs help. Only had one more day so just lived with it knowing we would never be back. Spent a lot for 2 nights for this bad experience. This hotel is barely a one star hotel and boarderline Motel. Did not live up to the normal experience we have with this brand. I left the another brand to go with IHG. Maybe that was a mistake.

Disappointing

This hotel is priced high for the quality of the hotel. The ceiling was crumbling and falling, all baseboards and trim were peeling as if they hadn't been painted in 15 years, appliances were rusted and fridge didn't work, pullout couch was broken and there were no extra pillows, stains had gooey stuff on all carpets, shower caulk was stained. Overall very poorly maintained and needs a serious update. This room should have been priced at $75 a night at most, not $200+ a night. Extremely disappointed and will never recommend this hotel...in fact it turned me away from any holiday inn again!

Visit Our Beautiful, Green Hotel in Rancho Cordova
Welcome to the Holiday Inn Rancho Cordova - Sacramento Hotel located on Highway 50, this fully non-smoking hotel in East Sacramento offers a convenient location for business and leisure guests. We hope you have an opportunity to enjoy our outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and redwood sauna. Leisure travelers will find lodging in Rancho Cordova allows them to easily visit the state capitol of Sacramento or the historic town of Folsom. The nearby American River offers white water rafting down a river that made gold mining history. For business travelers, our hotel in Rancho Cordova means they are close to businesses including Intel, Gencorp, Aero Jet, Delta Dental, Healthnet, NEC, EDS, the VA and Mather Airport. In addition, there's a fully equipped 24-hour business center and complimentary high-speed Internet access to help keep you connected while you're away from home. This is the strangest Holiday Inn stay I’ve ever had. This was the first time and only time that I can ever remember being charged an additional $100 deposit when checking into a hotel. There was no explanation for the deposit. When I repeatedly asked the front desk clerk upon checkout why the deposit was charged she was dull and obtuse, and just repeated that it was policy.
The smell of the public areas was bad and smelled like a nursing home. I believe the room we had was renovated, but again after repeated questions to the front desk clerk I was not able to determine whether it was or not. Wall texture in the room was the worst I’ve ever seen. The room smelled of fresh paint. I think the sink was chipped and rusty. The bath tile floor will soiled and missing grout. The wallpaper in the Public area looked like it was installed with the detailed of a small child.
