Keep an eye on the kids

There were so many unsupervised children throughout the entire hotel. There were so many parents in the pool area that were completely checked out. I couldn’t believe some of the things that were happening in there.

squeaky wheel gets oil

If you encounter a negative experience, it’s crucial to address it immediately at the front desk for the best chance at appropriate compensation. Delaying your concerns for a day or two will likely result in a negligible resolution. As the saying goes, "the squeaky wheel gets the oil," and that was certainly my experience—I waited, and the response was entirely inadequate.
During our stay, we witnessed three police vehicles in the parking lot at around 8:00 PM, arresting individuals, which understandably caused significant distress for my children. As if that wasn't enough, two hours later, the fire alarm went off, abruptly waking us from a deep sleep. Needless to say, we were left with virtually no rest for the remainder of the night.

Terrible experience

This may have been my worst hotel experience in my life. Was hoping for a great experience for my daughter’s volleyball tournament but instead we were met with terrible service, the room was not clean, and the hotel was severely understaffed.
We first got to our room and did not have any towels and the floors were dirty with crumbs. The pull out sofa was also dirty and there were no linens in the room for that. The first night I went the desk to request towels and linens and approximately four hours later at three am we were called by the front desk. I went down to retrieve the towels they said were available and after waiting at the front desk for nearly an hour i was told no towels were available.
The next morning before our games was spent shopping for bed linens and towels.
I had requested room cleaning for our stay and that never happened.
I will never stay at the crowne plaza in Atlanta again and it makes me not want to stay at any IHG property again if this is the type of service I will receive in the future.

Candlewood Suites hotels are extended-stay properties. Housekeeping service is provided every seven days. If you need fresh towels or additional supplies please stop by the front desk. Candlewood Suites hotels do not serve breakfast every morning due to the fact every room has a full kitchen in the room. However, we have several options in our Candlewood Cupboard for purchase. There are also several restaurant options in the vicinity and within walking distance.

Bed Bugs Beware

I have stayed at IHG hotels exclusively since 2017 and have never had an experience as poor as this one at. Candlewood in Bluffton, SC. Three days later I am dealing with bed bug bites and a rash. I have heard about them, but never have experienced it before. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel when I arrived and should have known better. My mistake. I am waiting to hear from management. We will see how they handle this miserable experience. I read the reviews from the past and noticed another customer had this issue a month ago. Warning to anyone planning on staying. It apparently hasn’t been resolved.

Fist time staying here. Very unpleasant experience. Idk I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice hotel. This was closer to a motel. Buy it was cheap so you get what you pay for. No breakfast as well. It was a boring hotel.

ABSOLUTE WORST

This was a horrible experience. Dirty, understaffed, and very poor management. My shoes stuck to the floors, the heater was noisy, the refrigerator was pulled out when I arrived and it smelled like a dead mouse. The water machine filter light stayed red for my entire stay. When I complained of these things, there was no response for 3 days and they offered to move me to another room after the weekend. Unfortunately, I got sick on Sunday night and simply could not move. I was there 9 nights and was sick for the last 5 days and could not leave the room. When asked for kleenex the replied they were out. None of the issues were resolved and the manager was extremely rude and just creepy, only offering a 50% discount for the 1st of 9 nights. I have tried to resolve the with IHG but have not received any response. I am very disappointed that IHG has not stood behind their product.

Dirty

Booked last minute, and wish I would have read previous reviews. Bathroom was very dirty. Counter appeared to be the only clean aspect of the bathroom. I wiped down the floor which was disgusting. This hotel seemed understaffed and the only staff member present seemed undervalued, she was the only pleasant aspect. The property management does not appear to have any standards or value this property. I payed less for way higher quality and much cleaner properties elsewhere. Do not recommend.

I really wanted to like it

It's a pretty hotel but the night auditor needs more training. He isn't very helpful. He didn't know how to work the fax machine ment for the guests it was locked and quickly gave up and walked away to continue being on his phone while we were trying to figure out what he didn't. Not a great help. I also asked for light service just the bed made and the towels exchanged only and they didn't manage to do it at all.. the water was ice cold so I took super shocking cold showers and the foset in the bathroom didn't work..but they did come up swiftly to fix it the following morning..so that was ok..the draw was missing on the right side of the desk was missing and also the period stain on the seat @ the desk was just nasty....the breakfast lady was the highlight of my stay though she is so pleasant and well mannered and genuine.. she is great keep her around..the pool was always so packed so couldn't enjoy it at all... they are extremely rude when it comes to add on breakfast. I had to deal with night auditor telling me essentially to prove it which is also a super slap in the face.. ihg doesn't say it on the reservation.. they also like to call the cops on people for asking them for something they paid for like breakfast. It's really intense to be honest. The gentleman they called the police on was wheelchair bound with a missing leg and he was Africa American and I was really concerned at their problem solving skills when it comes to police with African American people.. especially when they can't cause harm in a wheelchair.. that was a bit brutal...I will not be staying here again..because it seemed a bit racially charged at that point..

Cancceling Reservation No AIR

I have booked at this Hotel in the past. 1st time was good no complaints or issues, and it was April 2024.
2nd stay May 2024 the air conditioning in our room did not work, no help, very unfriendly staff, told us they have no other rooms. The next morning, I complain to manager & receive very little response. Not even a sorry or any extra points...NOTHING!!!! We chose to stay at the Nashville-Vanderbilt Dwtn for my son's football season. My son plays football for Vanderbilt University, so we are in Nashville a lot.
This last weekend we gave the Airport Hotel another try since it was a lot cheaper than the one close to Vanderbilt and I regret it so much. I booked the Hotel back in January for this last weekend 3/28-3/30. We had a 9-hour drive and left after work on Friday, around 8pm I had my husband call and let the hotel know we would be a late arrival and would be there around 1:00 AM, they said no problem and they would note the account. We arrive around 1:00 AM and I go to check in, the guy working the counter said my reservation had been canceled FOR BOTH NIGHTS due to the card on my app being denied. I quickly look at my app and notice it had my old debit card on there (I was scammed over Christmas and had to get a new card, and I forgot to change it on my app to the new card). He then tells me he can rebook me, but I would have to pay the new rate $262 instead of the $150 I had it booked for, then he immediately says, "oh no, we have no rooms left". He bats his eyes, no sorry, no nothing. Very cold and rude and starts asking the next person if he can help them. VERY RUDE AND COLD! I go outside and call the customer service number online and they tell me "SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME" the exact thing the manager in Stillwater told me in 2024!!! No email, no phone call.....NOTHING just canceled my WHOLE reservation. My husband goes back in and makes the employee call the on-duty manager and she admits on the phone she canceled our reservation and already gave all the extra rooms away! There are no room available anywhere close, so we have to drive 30 MINUTES back in from where we just came from and find a room for over $200. We finally got to bed at 3AM.
I just can't not process in my mind your hotel doing this to anyone in the middle of the night and 9 hours away from home (they had to see my address on my reservation), we had our child with us too sitting in a hotel parking for almost an hour searching for a new place to sleep!! ESPECIALLY your reward members!!! How in the world does a Manger of all things.... not make a phone and take a couple of minutes out of their time to call to say "HEY, I was going to go ahead and charge your card, and it is not working, there must be an error, can you give me your card????" If someone is traveling 9 hours, they are going to have a card that works.
WE CALLED and said late arrival - they could have said "we're going to go ahead and charge your card..... is the card you want to use at check in??? I see you made this reservation months ago, has anything changed with the card you want to use????? It is not hard to treat people with respect and not throw them on the street 9 hours away from home in the middle of the night!!!!!

QR Code to Park & Outrageous Parking Fees

We stay at this hotel every 4 weeks. They changed the parking to an app based system, giving us one more job to do - and they raised the parking fee to $30.89 per night. I cannot believe they have given us another job to do. This is not cool. This is not the way IHG hotels should treat their loyal members. We will be not be staying at this property again.
