Holiday Inn, I Know You Can Do Better

I have stayed in several Holiday Inn hotels since they were acquired by IHG. This is the first time I was disappointed in my stay. The lobby was not as clean as others have been, the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned and the temperature in our room was terrible, but the breakfast was not bad at all. The location is perfect in terms of being surrounded by great shopping and the freeway isn't even 3 minutes away. I will continue to give IHG (and Holiday Inn) my business but I do not recommend this particular hotel at all.

Terrible experience

We stayed at this hotel for our wedding, expecting excellent service, but it turned out to be a complete nightmare. We had informed the hotel in advance via email about our wedding and asked them to make sure everything in our room was perfect to avoid any unexpected issues.
And what did we get? A dirty toenail in the bed. My fiancée cut her foot on it and started bleeding — and our wedding was the very next day. What was she supposed to do in that situation? It was completely unacceptable — negligent, unsanitary, and unsafe.
Additionally, when we paid for the room at the reception, even though the booking was in US dollars, the payment was processed in Vietnamese dong without any prior notice. It might seem like a small detail, but the exchange rate difference added about 5% to the total cost, which was an unpleasant surprise. The staff should have informed us about the payment currency or let us know if they couldn’t accept US dollars, as stated in the booking.
On top of all this, the staff continuously disturbed us during our stay. We received phone calls in the room even when the “Do Not Disturb” sign was clearly displayed on the door. These calls woke us up and disrupted our rest during a very important and stressful time. The staff also showed no respect for our boundaries — shockingly, they even suggested we move to a different room in the evening on the day of our wedding. That level of insensitivity was beyond frustrating.
Moreover, despite our notification about this special occasion, the hotel showed no special attention or care whatsoever.
We will never stay at a hotel in this chain again.

Bed bugs?

I stayed at the hotel from April 1st to April 4th. I arrived at night on the first day, and I noticed a few small bugs near the desk by the bed and in the bathroom. I assumed they were ants or spiders and decided to stay.
The next morning, I noticed what looked like insect bites on my legs, but I didn’t think much of it at the time. However, when I returned to the room on April 3rd, I looked closely at the desk and saw many bugs. I suspected they might be bed bugs, so I reported it to the front desk.
The front desk moved me to a different room for the third night, but my legs are still red and itchy, and I’m worried some bugs may have gotten into my luggage. I took a video of the bugs — could someone please take a look and let me know what kind of bugs they are?

Had the worst stay here

I booked a stay at your hotel from the 14th-16th for my Husbands Birthday. I have stayed here multiple times because I love it there. When we arrived to Staybridge we pulled into a valet parking spot. One of the valet men advised my husband and I that it was okay to go check in and take our things up to our room because we were coming back down to leave and go get food. On the way back down to our vehicle we passed the front desk and a lady by the name of Brittany was at the desk with another man that had a mask on. They didn't say a thing to us as we walked past the front desk. As soon as we get outside the hotel and back to our vehicle A security guard by the name of Walker addressed my husband, and in his exact words says to my husband "Bro you can't be parking here and doing what you want to do like that", You haven't paid us anything" My Husband advised him that we were told it was okay because we were coming back to get in our car and leave. Mr. Walker kept on saying things in the nature of "This N word thinks he can do what he wants to do and it's not happening here." That comment upset my husband really bad and so they had a few words back and forth and that was it, nobody became physical and there were no threats made. I being his Wife deescalated the argument and I told Mr. Walker I work for IHG, and you are never supposed to argue with your Guest! After him hearing that he turns around and says I'm about to get them kicked out! My Husband and I leave the hotel. When my Husband and I return back to Staybridge at about 4:30am Mr. Walker had told Brittany to call the police on us and to have us kicked out. Mr. walker waited on us to walk back in the hotel all night, So when I walk In the hotel, Brittany asked me what my room number was and when I advised her my room number, she so rudely tells me I am no longer a guest there anymore and that I needed to get my things out of the room as soon as possible and she advised me I will not be getting a refund as well as telling me she has no problem calling the police on me to have me removed from the property. She didn't even want to listen to anything I had to say as a guest of her hotel. I wasn't aggressive, irate, or rude, so I didn't understand why she was being so rude to me. I just advised her that I too work for IHG I think she is going about this situation the wrong way especially When My Husband went to her to tell her that the security guard was being aggressive with us. Brittany would not give her name or the security guy's name to us to write a review and complain. The next morning, we went back to Staybridge to speak with a manger and was met with a beautiful lady named Nicole. She advised me she was the front desk supervisor, and she gave me their names and advised me to email you and speak with you about the situation and to see if the money spent on the rooms could be refunded because we didn't even get a chance to enjoy our room, we never even laid in the bed. We ended up having to go to another hotel and spend money there and so our whole experience that night was really awful. I really love your hotel, but I really hate we were treated so rudely and spoken to so disrespectfully. I pray that you understand I mean no disrespect I just would love to be refunded our money back because we didn't get a chance to enjoy one of our favorite places to stay when we visit Atlanta, GA.

The hotel is clean and new and in a very handy place for rail and tram links in the centre of Blackpool, but it could do with just a parking bay to drop cases near reception and lifts that work or a handy maintenance guy that can fix them quickly. The beds need softening too I feel a high quality topper might do it that's all

Poor experience

The hotel itself was clean and inviting but out room 410 had some issues. The beds were uncomfortable, the heat/ac didn't work, even after someone came to fix it, so it got warm during the night instead of cold and the room did not have a microwave. We have stayed at many holiday inn's and this one was by far the worst.
