Very Odd Vibe

Check-in staff was very helpful. Property was a little aged on exterior but inside was clean, modern, and welcoming.
Got a very weird vibe once checked in. Only 12 vehicles parked in guest parking. Approximately 260 rooms on the property and we only saw 4 other guests and 12 cars parked in the lot. Ghost town.

A rural hotel near Colchester with free parking, free Wi-Fi and breakfast included
The Holiday Inn Express® Colchester hotel is just off the A12 , six miles from the town centre and 15 minutes' drive from Colchester station. Direct trains to London Liverpool Street take an hour. Stansted Airport (STN) is a 45-minute drive away. You can drive to the seaside villages of Clacton-on-Sea and Frinton-on-Sea in half an hour.
Take the family to spot giraffes and elephants at Colchester Zoo , 15 minutes' drive from the hotel, or to admire the Roman ruins in Colchester town centre , six miles away. If retail therapy is more your style, you can browse the high-street stores at the town's outdoor Culver Square shopping centre .
You can hold a meeting or an event for up to 38 guests in the hotel's three naturally lit meeting rooms . Wi-Fi is free , and you can take care of copying and printing in the business centre . If you're set for a long day, a working lunch can be provided to help you stay productive.
To start the day, tuck into the inclusive Express Start Breakfast buffet, featuring bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, baked beans and pastries. Worst nights sleep

Arrived to the smell of smoke and dirty dishes outside the room.
The bed was uncomfortable and small for 2 people.
Could constantly hear the traffic.
Finally dosed off about 530am and woken up by the bin men at 630am
2 nights of hardly any sleep.
The staff were friendly and breakfast was nice. Places to sit were limited

Not a satisfactory stay

Unfortunately Holiday Inn Johannesburg Airport is not a suggested stay. The staff and service team not in favor service to customers. Although they mention to supply any needs of hygeine and toileteries, they couldnt even supply dental kit even after multiple asks. And no body cares and monitors for guest needs. If you expat, no exchange available for any need although they mentioned in thier brouchure to support. Food not many options and need to outsource. Overall not a satisfactory stay.

Our clientele will experience true Southern Charm and Hospitality at its finest, here at the Holiday Inn® Rock Hill . We are located right off of I-77, and Dave Lyle Boulevard. We are a full-service hotel, and proudly entirely non smoking. Perfect for leisure as well as corporate travelers, we are conveniently located near Manchester Meadows, Winthrop University, and great local attractions. While staying with us, enjoy dining at our on-site restaurant Kems or discover the many other dining options within walking distance of the hotel. On your free time, take a stroll over to Rock Hill Galleria Mall located right behind the hotel, or take a trip back in time by exploring historic landmarks such as Historic Brattonsville, or the Museum of York County.

Misleading Ameneties

The hotel has had their gym under renovation for months (just assume it won't be available). You have to pay for breakfast. Only one elevator worked. My room was not cleaned during my stay (I guess you have to request it?). This experience has turned me off from IHG and holiday inn.

Great location

It’s located in a neat, clean part of the city. Within walking distance too many food options. They supplied complementary umbrellas for us to walk to dinner as it was raining. Person checking us in was friendly and helpful. Parking is very tight and fortunately we didn’t get blocked in upon leaving early the next morning. They brought me a small fan for my room upon request which was greatly appreciated. Would love to stay again during warm weather.

Do not expect much rooms are small and lack a "closet" with no where to store luggage. Limited to just a few small drawers. Buffet was horrible and had to argue each day to order off the menu for breakfast despite Diamond Status. Location was good but lots of exterior noise.

Mold and musk smelll

I stayed at two different IHG hotels on my trip and they were both a moldy and musky smelling and need d some renovations done. We both developed a cough and sinus problems while we were there that cleared up a couple days after we left the properties. Other then what I mentioned above the stay was good!

Good stay

The hotel in general is ok, it’s one of the very few that has a beach front, golf course and marina. The food and drinks are good but the staff is very slow and disorganized.

Decent stay but gross shower

The property itself was good looking and seemed to be in good shape. Thats where the good stopped though. The shower in my room was gross.. Mold and mildew galore in the shower and there was even black mold on the back of the bathroom door. The whole room smelled like mold. In my opinion, the cleaners are lacking in doing a proper cleaning job as it would appear that the shower has nevert been cleaned..
I stayed there for 6 days and reached out to managment after the first day and asked them to hit the shower with some bleach and a scrub brush, that did not happen, but they changed the towels lol. On the 3rd day i stopped and talked to one of the staff members at the front desk about the situation and she said she would get it handled. The next day the mold and mildew were mostly gone and the room smelled somewhat better but there was still some mold smell in the room itself..My opinion- the shower needs to be demoed and start from scratch. I try to stay in IHG properties exclusivly- but im starting question why.
