I really enjoyed the stay at HUALUXE. The check in process was quick and easy, with a free upgrade being the elite platinum member. The room was large and clean. The buffet breakfast was elaborate with both traditional Chinese and Western food items. Location was convenient to lots of coffee shops and bars, as well as the #1 metro station. I will definitely stay again when I am in Shanghai.

Holiday Inn Beijing Focus Square is a four star business hotel which is management by IHG. Hotel is located in the heart of WangJing commercial area, close proximity to the Jingmi Expressway. It stands in notable distance from several key commercial landmarks including Wangjing SOHO, New World Department Store, Capital Mall, and Qilin Business Street. It’s walking distance to Mercedes-Benz, Siemens, Caterpillar, Nestle offices.
The hotel is approximately 2 km away from Beijing‘s 798 Art Zone, 6.5 km to the China International Exhibition Center (Chaoyang Hall), 12 km to the New International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall). The hotel has convenient transportation, located 18 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport. You can easily visit must-see places in Beijing, such as the Forbidden City and Universal Studios, by taking the nearby Metro lines 14 or 15. Line 14 also provides direct access to Beijing South Railway Station.

Ammonia smell

Entered my room and there was a strong odor of ammonia. I assumed that the scent would dissipate especially if the room was just cleaned. However, this did not happen and the smell seemed to get stronger, to the point that my breathing was irritated and it made me sick to my stomach. At 2AM the smell was so strong that I went to front desk to complain. They sent up a manager and cleaning person. They both agreed that it was too strong but they had no other rooms available. They offered to move me to another hotel, but at 2AM, this is not acceptable. I showered, left my room shortly after, and worked in the lobby until the other guests from my party were ready to leave at 9AM. Full transparency, they offered me a different room at 5:30AM after someone had checked out early, I didn’t accept it. When I went to check out, they acted like nothing happened and I paid the full room rate. This showed me that no one really cared or understood hospitality. Completely unacceptable from an IHG property. Looking back, they should have never rented that room in the first place. They put my health at risk.

Friendly and welcoming staff

Love the staff. Came in really late and they were happy and helpful throughout. Very easy checkin and you can ask the staff anything and they would try their best to support. Would recommend if you in Chengdu. Everything looks clean and well maintained. Room suites was upgraded for me for free. Breakfast was good with American and Chinese style varieties. It is located front of a big street so easy access to transportation. Not in a walking distance to downtown attractions of the tianfu square but easy access to transportation.

No AC at 31C. !!! Could not sleep!

It was hard to believe that this 5 star hotel does not turn on AC when the temperature is above 30 C. The room is so hot and could not sleep well at all. Also the hair dryer does not work. So disappointed.

Poor conditions and no AC

下午茶跟happy hour的甜點讓人驚艷，這應該是青島最好吃的甜點之一。甜點師傅功力贏過大員皇冠，不輸台灣兩家洲際。青島洲際就算了吧
飯店很新硬體很不錯，但泳池的水混濁更衣室廁所臭氣熏天，真的大扣分
早餐也是免費，人太多太吵。但在山東能吃到薄如蟬翼的扁食確實暖心
#花不到一千三混吃混住，這種staycation蠻可以的，退房禮給了一包玉米片也太可愛了

The hotel was perfect for a work trip—fast Wi-Fi, a comfortable desk, and a quiet environment. The breakfast buffet was quick and delicious, and the location made getting to meetings a breeze. I’ll definitely stay here again for business!
