Will Never Stay In This Hotel Again

I was in a room that overlooked 12th Street and Four Winds Gas Station and the road traffic was so noisy that I had a hard time sleeping! Check in staff appeared to be burnout waiting on customers, the check in staff was very short and curt with me and never greeted me with a smile. The next time I have to stay over night in Albuquerque I will find another hotel to stay in.

This is my honest review. When we looked for affordable hotels within our budget in New York City close to Time Square walking distance to the subway this was the best option that we could find regarding the price. The breakfast was great to be able to have as an option. Little bit of issue with some of the elevators as there is a lot of floors and there was a lot of people the week that we were there. The room is nothing special. There were a few things that were not enough to bother us, but a little bit unsightly there is a stain on the carpet. Our phone had a piece of black electrical tape holding the cord into the phone headset. The water pressure is not very strong, but water was very hot which I appreciated. I spoke to someone else at breakfast and they had a complaint. I’m not exactly sure what it was. But in summary, I feel like a lot of those little things aren’t necessary to make better or to fix or put money into because it’s New York. It’s a hotel that’s close to those amenities and if it is gonna be a little bit cheaper per night you’re gonna probably always have people in the hotel so that is what I would say. I don’t expect any changes to be made. Would we stay there again if we went? I think we probably would continue to look for something different just to have a different experience but I’m not gonna say anything was horribly wrong. All that to say the bed on the left side on the mattress was kind of lumpy and I felt like a little bit uncomfortable, but we were so tired at the end of the day didn’t really seem to affect us and when I woke up, I didn’t have any back pain or anything like that so I was grateful for that. Get the elevator fixed

If the elevators had been working it wouldn't have been so bad. But when you have elevators not working and kids being kept outside of the room from their parents, just wandering the hallways or sleeping in the hallways. That's a little off-putting to a business traveler.

Terrible stay

Upon arrival, the front desk clerk was very rude and acted very unprofessional that I had interrupted her personal conversation with a woman standing at the front desk. Upon entering our room, I found receipts from 2/2/25 (almost 3 months ago) on the floor in the room. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We went down for breakfast at 5:30 am as we had an early flight. The same desk person was at the dining area having another personal conversation with a woman sitting at a table. Trying to get information about our park and stay, I scanned the QR code located on a table. It stated to see the front desk. I asked about the stay and park, and the desk clerk (while in the dining room) pointed to a window and said you have to park out there. I stated that I didn’t understand where she was pointing (it was raining and their curtains were covering the window. She rudely told me to go to the lot behind the hotel. My husband and I went to take our luggage to our car and I told the person that she was extremely rude. Upon returning to have breakfast, I walked up to the counter and took the manager’s card. While eating breakfast, this clerk made a point to say hello and good morning to everyone that entered the dining area. As we left, the woman called me a foul name as I walked by. We parked in the lot. Upon returning after our flight, trying to leave the lot. We were asked for our voucher. As we had never received a voucher, I returned to the front desk. The clerk was very polite and upon locating the voucher book, it was shown that we never received the voucher we had paid for with our stay. This front desk clerk was not only extremely rude but also deliberately failed to give us the information as well as item we needed to exit the parking lot. Very poor customer service.

Horrible basement room.

It wasn't a great stay for me. I was given a room in the basement with an odd smell. The kitchen is on the other side of the wall so I was woken up to the sound of dishes and loud bumps to the wall as they setup for breakfast.
The housekeeping came really late, at 7pm on Sunday and I just said to skip it. The floor didn't look vacuumed when they did come in.
The refrigerator never worked. They said someone was going to switch it out, that never happened, so I stopped asking.
The bed is rock hard. I didn't expect this from a larger chain hotel and from a "4" star hotel. A "3" star on the same street for cheaper would have suffice.
I didn't want to be the guest that complains about everything but that room shouldn't be rented to anyone. There's mold at the top tiles. I won't be returning.

Dirty floors and hair in the bed

The floor was full of dirt and sand upon entering the room. There was hair in the bed from someone before us, the perimeter of the bathroom mirror was super dirty. The perimeter of the entire room was super dusty, and we didn't sleep at all due to how hot it was and the heat would not come down. I had to open thw window and at that it would only open like 2 inches. The pool area also had ants that crawled in me as I watched my kids swim. And there was sand in the hot tub according to my teenager.

Far below Staybridge standard

When I arrived, I was given an "upgraded" room in which the AC thermostat did not work. When I attempted to call the front desk to report the problem, I discovered that the phone lacked a cable from it to the wall jack. By the time I was settled into a different room, an hour had passed.
The next day when I touched the water handle in the kitchen sink of the second room, the handle fell off into the garbage disposal. Since it was in the hot position, I had to fish the handle out of the disposal with hot water running on my hand. I had to retrieve it so that I had a means of turning the water off. The door jam and locking plate for this room had been so badly damaged and repaired in the past, that the security bolt would not latch.
I have stayed in numerous Staybridge hotels and this one is so far off the mark, IHG should not let them use the name.

Dissapointing experience in Selma

Several problems with room and limited help addressing them by staff.
Toliet not working (fixed myself), insufficient towels (2 provided but 3 people booked in room), water damaged ceiling in bath, shower curtain bar falling down, missing stoppers in tub and sink, no body soap in shower, pool slimly green (not opened) and funky mold on outside of room window.
Breakfast was very good.
