When we travel, we usually like to stay at Holiday Inn Express, but the one in Jackson MS was a letdown. The room wasn't cleaned good and the breakfast, well I'll say they need to find someone that knows how to cook. Sausage patties were paper thin and overcooked; biscuits were so hard you couldn't cut through them. This motel is in need of upgrading badly, I would NOT recommend staying here!

This was supposed to be a handicapped room. You could barley get the wheelchair into the bathroom. The sink stuck out leaving a sharp edge of the sinks countertop right in the way. A very dangerous set up for a handicapped bathroom. For individuals that are already unsteady on their feet. There wasn't a lot of room also within the room to use a wheelchair. Not even too turn around once I was over at the AC unit.
There was no breakfast as described. You offered a 5$ biscuit at the counter, which turned out to be the Jimmy Dean frozen biscuit my daughter use to buy. Check in staff was not very friendly. Didn't offer any information about how to get to the elevator which was a long way off from check in desk. We were about to turn back when we came to it. There was a strong odor of urine in the room near the bathroom. I'm assuming that another handicapped person had a hard time getting into the bathroom and had an accident. This would probably be because the door opens out towards the room and if you are in a wheelchair you can't open the door and then pull it going backwards into the room on carpet. Very hard to do! The door handle on the bathroom is not working properly and will only open if you turn it straight up to the ceiling and wiggle it. The refrigerator was shut off. We thought it did not work. Someone had pulled it out and shut it off. Impossible for a handicapped person alone to pull it out and cut it back on. One last thing, the permanently fixed shampoo and conditioner in the shower is placed in a bad location for a handicapped person. Once I was helped to the bathroom and left to shower facing the shower head, I found that I was going to have to have someone come help me because facing the shower head and having those items screwed to the wall behind me, made it impossible for me to get to them or use them. Someone had to come wash my hair for me.
I'm giving you the score that I am because the room was clean, AC worked very well, no bed bugs, the check out staff was very friendly and helped with flower delivery's for my sister's funeral.
Paying as much as I did for the stay did not match what you would expect. As a handicapped person I wouldn't be able to stay here again comfortably as it is set up.
It would be fine for the normal person for a quick stay.

I stay at many hotels during the course of a year. The HI Express in Norfolk, VA rooms we fine and clean. The problem is the breakfast area. At similar hotels, they keep the food and beverages replenished. When I arrived, they were out of egg omelets, sausage links and coffee. I told the kitchen attendant but no response. Then I told the front desk who said, they are making it now. It took 15 minutes for the replenishment, meanwhile guest came and went without. Inexcusable.

First time staying at a ihg hotel and had this kind of bad experience. We acquired two room at the south Padre resort room 517 and 507. They both smelled like mildew. The ac unit in room 507 kept going out in the middle of the night and the TV had no signal. Tub water did not drain well and there was trash already behind the microwave when we arrived. Elevator would shake while going up and would be nice to know that breakfast was not included. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone to stay.

A smart hotel close to Manchester city centre with free parking and WiFi

I have stayed in this hotel numerous time and the customer service seems to be declining each time. The hotel carpets are a trip hazard and staff have bad Attitude. They take no accountability, I requested a late check out upon arrival, this was granted by the staff member who was on duty. The following morning I was asked to leave, when I made them aware that I had requested a late check out, I was told that the male staff member who agreed the check was new and had only been in his role for 2 days, so he did not know the rules. How is the staff lack of proper induction my problem? I will not be staying here again

Lots of potholes in the driveway. Be careful walking into the building! Upon getting into our room found several long black hairs on the bathroom vanity. The TV was bad (see photo below) and asked to change out and never done. Bed and pillows were hard, towels were thin. Breakfast egg casserole had hard potatoes and limited options. Front desk did mention they were going to be remodeling soon.

Road noise and Hot room . This location is not the best place to get a good night sleep because it is so close to the highway and the ac cut off while you sleep leaving me hot sweating. Hard to adjust the thermostat to the temperature I desire.

My overall stay was pretty good. I did have some weird things that happened that probably were not the results of the staff issues. Noisy neighbors and random knocking on my door. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future.

We attended an event during our stay and every single morning around 3am, jackhammers and construction sounded loudly right outside our balcony. The temps during the day were great but got hot during the night. The best thing about our stay was HECTOR. He was fun, great at his craft and really enjoyed being with his customers. He would be the only reason we would stay again. Also, "Security" wasn't much of one as she was sitting on her phone not paying attention the entire time we stayed in the lobby. Yikes!
