Management scams customers

I canceled my reservation hours before the cancellation window. The app correctly detected that no preauth had been placed on my card so it displayed what it usually displays: “You will not be charged for this cancellation. Do you wish to proceed?” Then, they charged me anyways! The only possible way that could happen is by a human manually going into the canceled reservation and charging my card. Just feels SO scammy! I mean they can see in the system that I’m IHG Ambassasor Diamond Elite when they charged me illicitly, so this means they are doing this to EVERYBODY as Standard Operating Procedure.

Maid at another door banging and screaming housekeeping at 5:55am.

Staff needs extensive training. No management on site. Staff waking their customers at 5:55 am
Overcharging fees, then overcharging again. I waiting to get checked in due to another billing error from the manager from a customer that had been there for 3 years, just to get overcharged myself. Employees openly admit the management is never available and is not a good manager.

Great hotel if you don’t have a car

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel but was disappointed by the parking situation. With only two spaces available for both guests and staff, parking was extremely limited.
I was fortunate to secure a spot, but after parking, the receptionist informed me that both spaces had already been reserved in advance by paying guests. The next morning, when I asked a different receptionist if I could book a space in advance, he told me no such system existed. This contradiction left me questioning the integrity of the night receptionist, who either reserved spaces unofficially or was prioritizing friends.
This experience soured my impression of an otherwise good hotel. The inconsistency in staff communication, along with the unprofessional behavior of receptionists chatting loudly in a room full of guests seeking relaxation, left me feeling disappointed.

service deteriorated

I stayed at this hotel more than once each year for decades. I still remembered the days when they put out breakfast take-away bags for those who didn't have time for breakfast. Those of course had been gone for a long time. The service had always been acceptable.
Since the pandemic, they required guests to request room service. At first guest had to fill out a slip at least the night before for the request. Then it was oral requests for the days that service was desired. Since then, the requests and the service dates didn't always match. Often repeated requests were required. At the last stay, I was promised certain days for service at checking in. I had to request at least 3 times to have the service wanted.
Parking at the underground garage used to be free. Now a total charge of $25 per night is required to park at the hotel, while the web said only $20. The drive loop in front of the hotel now is always packed with trucks that parked there, making navigation to the garage entrance a challenge. Maybe those are vehicles that avoid paying the parking fee but are making it difficult for those who accepted to pay for the convenience.
The breakfast area in the last several years had been served by a server who got everything ready shortly after the start of the breakfast time. I was there often enough that he recognized me and we greeted each other good morning. Now the new server often didn't bring out all the breakfast items 45 minutes after start time. And some routine items were not brought out until requested.
I never tried their hospitality dinner during the weekdays. I don't see the menu posted on the fridge anymore. Maybe that is gone too.
Definitely, I felt the service quality has deteriorated substantially at this establishment.

Louisiana Hotel Close to Shreveport Municipal Airport
Louisiana's third largest city, Shreveport, sits near the borders of Texas and Arkansas. With the Shreveport Municipal Airport (SHV) located a mile from our door, you will find that getting to and from our Shreveport hotel is easy. Many of Shreveport's major businesses and tourist attractions are just a few miles away.
Within six miles of our Shreveport accommodations are General Motors and the Frymaster Corporation. Locally owned and operated out of Shreveport, Frymaster has become a nationwide supplier of deep fryers. Cellxion's corporate headquarters are just 15 minutes away. Shreveport features a wealth of nightlife and entertainment. Our Shreveport hotel is within 10 miles of several casinos, including Boomtown Casino and Sam's Town Casino . Harrah's Louisiana Downs and Racetrack Casino are a little farther away from the hotel. Shreveport also features attractions for the entire family, including the Louisiana Boardwalk. Just seven miles from our hotel in Shreveport, this outdoor area features music, dining and shopping. Independence Stadium, home of the Independence Bowl, is also only minutes away. Not the greatest IHG

I had a stop over in Shreveport after driving 14 hours with the family.
On arriving, found out that the elevator is out of order.
I was traveling with my mom who is on a wheel chair and other family members.
Requested front desk to see if they can cancel the reservation so we can find a different hotel as she was going to put us on the 4th floor.
Front desk was not very helpful and blunt about not canceling and still charging us if we decided to go
to another hotel.

I set up the family at a different hotel and stayed the night at Holiday Inn.
After making it to my room and inspecting the restroom; found urine stains all over the toilet.
Not the greatest IHG. I think IHG lost a valued guest.

Old and outdated rooms

This hotel does not look like the photos listed. Rooms are old and outdated. Bathroom have mold in showers. Showers also are cracked and do not drain correctly. You can feel the springs in the beds. Was placed next to an exit door and heard the door slamming all night long.

One word- roaches! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL

I was put in a room that reeked of cigarette smoke, where there was no hot water and one of the lights was burnt out. Then the next day when they FINALLY switched my room THAT room had a missing microwave plate, one of the two AC units weren't working, the plug in the bathroom didn't work, and we saw ROACHES in the elevator, which in and of itself was barely functional..
