Still Wonderful but F&B Needs Improvement!
Yes, I recommend this property.
This was our fourth time staying at HI Kandooma. The resort and staff are always first rate! This resort has good facilities and lovely bungalows and water villas (however they are showing some need for upgrading). They are also very child friendly and have a fantastic international staff. Service levels are as good as any five star resorts that we have visited in our travels! We were on half-board meal plan during this stay and we felt that the breakfast and dinner buffets were very lack lustre, clinical and uninspired! Dishes were repeated especially for the dinner buffet and did not provide much value-for-money. The food with the exception of the Indian cuisine can be described as colourless at best! The buffets felt almost like an afterthought!! Also, the presence of many pesky flies did not help the situation. We must say that we were most disappointed with this aspect of our stay. HI Kandooma needs to improve tremendously with the F&B buffets. Other than the F&B shortcoming, HI Kandooma is still a great resort!

Lovely Resort as Always but F
Yes, I recommend this property.

Better Stay Than Last Stay!
Yes, I recommend this property.
Booked this lovely hotel at the last minute when we were in Osaka recently and I must say that service levels have improved tremendously since our last stay in March 2017. Front Office performed magnificently with Front Office Team Leader leading his team wonderfully!
The Hotel is still as beautiful as when we last stayed but owners and management need to pay attention to ensure F&E is well maintained especially the air conditioning system in the room and overall upkeep of items within the room as some of these items are beginning to show some age e.g. toilet accessories, carpets etc.
I would highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service, attentive staff, location and value for money if you are able to get a good rate! Btw, the reservation system for booking a room with 2 or more adults needs to be improved as rates vary greatly between a room booked with 2 adults and a room booked with 2 adults plus 1 teen (13 years above) which the latter is considered an adult. For such a situation you would need to call the hotel's reservation department directly to obtain a better rate and this can be an inconvenience.
Otherwise, this hotel is 5 stars! Highly recommended!

Excellent Stay Experience!
Yes, I recommend this property.
Returning to the Intercontinental Osaka after one year, the hotel still proves to be excellent in terms of service levels, room product and attention to details. The front office team leader, Mr Ryotaro Kobayashi was exemplary in providing top notch service from helping us to make our reservation to checking us out. The entire front office team deserves a mention and a pat of their backs for resolving various minor issues during our stay. However, the hotel needs to look into some upkeep matters especially in the guest room as after 5 years, some items e.g. carpets etc are beginning to show some ageing. Overall, a fine hotel in the heart of Osaka, highly recommended!

"Old Dame" with Excellent Staff and Service
Yes, I recommend this property.
Wonderful stay I had with the family. Much improved from when I last visited about 2 to 3 years ago. Excellent staff service especially provided by Guest Relations Manager, Carman. Room is satisfactory though the wood veneer in the room could do with some touch-up as there were many scratches.
Hotel is located in a relatively convenient location just slightly away from the Tsim Tsa Shui hub of activities. Lots of food joints located nearby and MTR station within 5-7 minutes walking distance.
Great experience overall but rooms need some refreshing to stay top class!

OK but lacks Warmth
Yes, I recommend this property.
Stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend using the Ambassador Weekend Certificate. Stayed here previously before it became an Intercontinental hotel. Was not greeted as a loyal Ambassador guest by the senior staff who attended to my check-in. No early check-in was given although requested. Asked to borrow umbrellas from Concierge as it was raining but was met with a surly response! Requested for a rollaway bed and was told that it would cost quite a bit for each night! Totally shocked by all the failings! However, after I registered my complaints, the same senior staff appeared sympathetic and provided us with breakfast in the Club Lounge for the next three days of our stay. The hotel is not a bad hotel as the rooms are spacious. Although not located in the most convenient location, the free shuttle service makes up for it. Overall, they need to train their staff to be more service oriented if they wish to be considered a 5* hotel!

Very Very Average Experience! Unlikely to return.
No, I do not recommend this property.
Very very average stay experience. The hotel and rooms need a lot of upkeep and maintenance. If not for the great location, I would not recommend it. Did not get value-for-money here. There is also no recognition of IHG Rewards Club members or any form of upgrades if you already booked a Superior Room. The least they could do is perhaps assign higher status members on the Rewards Programme a room with a better view!

An Excellent, Wonderful Resort - A Must Stay!

This is the third time we have stayed at Kandooma Holiday Inn since visiting the Maldives in 2013. The service levels, improvements to overall infrastructure, new additions, comfort and staff friendliness is just EXCELLENT! This is in no small measure and thanks to the owners of this property (HPL) and the management company, IHG that runs it. There is a feeling of "coming home" every time we visit. This is not just a wonderful holiday resort but a sanctuary for both couples and families. Kandooma Holiday Inn is perhaps the only resort in the Maldives that in my personal opinion provides excellent value-for-money. The amenities and service levels are comparable to any five star resorts. There is a wonderful array of facilities like the Kids Club, Watersports Centre, large swimming pool, various restaurants etc. Furthermore, I always believe that what makes a resort GREAT is its committed and passionate employees and Kandooma Holiday Inn staff like Mr./Ms. Joseph D. (GM), Bandula, Winston, Siva, Jeannie, Vincent, Ratheesh, Dsantha, Harinder, Tomas, Maylene, Monaliza, Roma, all waiters, housekeeping, boatmen and Dive Centre staff are top notch! Kudos to all of you! Keep up the good work! We look forward to visiting again next year!
