Stayed here with the family for 1 night on our return from Gili T, Lombok and enroute to SG. Hotel was renovated approximately 10 years ago and rebranded as Holiday Inn. Was not provided with an upgrade (eventhough Spire Elite) and this was "indicated" after making my reservation on the IHG website (showing a change in room rates to the highest category of room). The hotel grounds are quite nice and well maintained. Booked a deluxe twin ocean view room and the views were quite stunning. Great for seeing the Bali sunset! However, the overall room condition was poor with the table top sagging in the centre and wood furnishing requiring a coat of polish or paint! The room had a bad smell as well! Shower head was not functioning properly also. Very dated room. This resort needs a facelift! Noise levels are quite high in the resort with kids running around. Forget the beach area as it is dirty and no deck chairs are provided for guests. The beaches in Seminyak and Canggu are far better. Location is ok, very near the airport and that's why we chose to stay just for the night. The Spa was good and restaurants are excellent. If there is one redeeming quality of this resort, it is the wonderful staff at the restaurants and Spa. They provided us with warmth and made us feel welcomed.

Stayed here with the family for 2 nights on our way to Gili T, Lombok. Was upgraded to an Oasis Room, the room and view did not disappoint! Visited this hotel in February of this year and now again. The levels of service were excellent from check-in to check-out. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Service was efficient and attentive. What we enjoyed most was the in-house Cafe. Fantastic coffee! Food at the restaurant was not as good as during our last visit and this was a little disappointing. Perhaps the hotel should look into this? Overall, I would still highly recommend the Indigo in Seminyak.

Stayed here again with the family for a total of 6 nights. Wonderful service and courteous, warm staff from check in to check out! Kudos to guest relations, front desk and bell desk! The staff here are top notch!
Rooms are well maintained and very clean. The Bay view was lovely especially at dawn and dusk. Plenty of closet space etc. Hotel shuttle service is efficient and provides a convenient mode of transportation to the nearby Hamamatsucho and Shinagawa stations.
Its very difficult to fault this hotel and if there is one thing that would be good would be the presence of more shops and restaurants around the area!

The Crowne Plaza Kyoto sits opposite Nijo Castle. This is an old hotel with a “vintage” atmosphere. The ladies at reception all dress in Kimonos.
Reception was ok and efficient, however we received no help from the bellman etc when they saw us rolling our luggage towards their front entrance! There was little warmth shown to arriving guests! Just the usual customary courtesies.
The newly renovated rooms are nice but if you are staying in an original room then you will be in for a bit of a shock! The decor in the room is pretty much a throwback to the 1980s. Just look at the website pics.
The air-conditioning system in the room is fair at best and in the daytime it can be very very warm. Lighting in the room is good but there is a lack of closet and drawer spaces. There is but one window in the room and though they claim that this is a Deluxe room overlooking Nijo Castle, I actually faced the top of the roof of the building in front and Nijo Castle was beyond and behind it! I was “upgraded” to this room.
Be careful when booking this hotel as if you are traveling as a party of 3 adults e.g. 2 adults + child (above 12 years) as I was, then you will have no choice but to stay in an old room as the hotel can only accommodate up to 2 adults in their newly renovated rooms!
The Crowne Plaza should get its act together if they want to compete at the 4/5 star hotel levels as having stayed previously at their hotel in Osaka and now here in Kyoto, they are both a huge disappointment. I thought I would give them a chance but I must say that I am not impressed by their product nor their service in Kyoto. It just seems that they do not really share the IHG ethos.
By the way, I wrote a similar review on another web known travel site but received NO reply from their management team. I get the impression that they only care about good reviews! Very disappointing and sad!

We were back for our annual beach vacation. This was our 5th time staying at Holiday Inn Kandooma, Maldives and it was still wonderful and providing excellent value for money! The double storey beach villas have undergone some refurbishment and are looking refreshed and renewed. The view from the beach villa was stunning! All the restaurants provide tasty food and quite an excellent buffet. Service staff again are especially efficient, attentive and friendly. They are willing to go that extra mile for all guests. The diving, sea sports and activities are exceptional providing fun for the entire family. Kudos to all staff! There is an excellent team working at HI Kandooma! Please keep up the good work!

This Indigo property is very young (2-3 years old) and has a refreshing architecture and ID. The staff are quite young and are enthusiastic about their work. Service levels are high but can be further improved. All staff are very friendly and welcoming especially, Yanti (Makasa), Arya (Bali Salon), Sathira, Dyna (Front Office), Dewa, Pasek, Darryl, Jaya (Pottery Cafe), Sufian (Sugar Sands) and Gede (Pool).
The resort has very nice communal and public areas, rooms are well designed and generous in space. Depending on the type of rooms booked, some face the pool area (Oasis) and others faced the front porch (Classic) or side gardens (Neighbourhood). There are also 19 villas on the premises. Facilities and amenities are sufficient. Restaurants and bars provide excellent food and drinks, however prices can be lower. The swimming pool area is nice and inviting. The Nite Club (Sugarsand) has a nice vibe with great food.
We also tried dinner at Salon Bali and found the food both tasty and unique (Balinese Classic x Haute Cuisine). Service was excellent!
Negative points about this resort include Front Office staff not acknowledging my IHG status, staff are young and appear a little unsure of procedures hence the need to repeat requests etc. Check in took over 40 minutes and this was late at night (9:45pm). Toilets in the room were not cleaned properly with grime stuck between the floor tiles! Resort transportation cost was a little on the high side and needs to be more competitive.
Overall, this resort hotel is situated in a wonderful area (Seminyak) but needs to maintain its exterior and improve on staff efficiency if it is to stay at the top of any travellers' choice when visiting Bali.

Stayed here with the family again for 3 nights on our way back from Koh Tao. This is still a wonderful 5 star resort located on the cliff of Baan Taling Ngam. The vistas from the Air Bar and Amber restaurant is still magnificent. Sunsets are especially fantastic and great for photographers! The resort is 25 years young and some areas are beginning to show some age. These areas will have to be addressed in order to ensure that this resorts remains a 5 star resort! Dinner at the outdoor patio at Amber Restaurant and drinks at Club Intercontinental Lounge may prove a little warm at certain times of the year. Hence, it would be great if some ceiling fans could be instored to keep guests cool! The service here from all staff like Khun Fongbeer, Tuk, Aet, Wee, Pik, Noom, O, Boy, Duk and many others made our stay unforgettable! Their kind smiles, excellent service rendered truly makes this resort a very magical place! The Harnn Spa has an extensive spa menu and their massages and treatments are really effective and good. Wonderful place to heal the mind, body and soul! Beachside restaurant, Flames provides excellent an lunch menu and the beach bar will keep you hydrated throughout the day. Overall, a great resort with dedicated, helpful and friendly staff! Love it and will return soon!!

This 5 star resort has been around for over 20 years! However, it has managed to retain its reputation as one of the best luxury resort hotels in Samui. Staff are excellent especially in providing very good service. Staff are friendly, warm, genuine and helpful especially at reception, restaurants, pool etc. The overall upkeep of this hotel has also been good but some of the rooms and villas require refreshing. The views from the lobby, rooms are second to none! Absolutely gorgeous! Areas that require improvement are in resort transportation both in-house and limo transfers. My wife used the Spa and spoke highly of it! I would highly recommend this resort when the rates are reasonable by Samui standards off course!
