1. Stuffy Room and Inadequate Air Circulation The room was stuffy and uncomfortable. Cannot control temperature, dangerous for health. I felt shortness of breath and need to ask for help! By then was given an electric fan to use for the rest of my stay.
2. Clogged Bathtub and Delayed Repairs The bathtub was clogged. The water from the shower failed to drain for several days and was disgusting to have my feet still soaked in soapy water after every bath. I reported the issue immediately, and after three days, maintenance finally attempted to resolve the issue but yet they left it unfinished. I discovered the mess left behind when I returned to the room and as I could not use at all, the solution was for me to change rooms close to midnight, which was unreasonable, inconvenient and disruptive to my rest and made me lost my energy for next day.
3. Uncomfortable Bed Upon arriving in my first room, I noticed that the mattress on the bed was heavily sagging in the middle, making it uncomfortable to sleep and more strenuous to get out of bed. The sinking in the middle of the mattress caused an uneven sleeping surface that negatively affected my rest. I reported the issue to the front desk the next morning and I had to stack two blankets in the centre of the bed in an attempt to level the mattress. When I had the honour to move rooms, while the mattress in the second room was slightly better, it still had a noticeable sag in the middle.
4. Lack of Welcome Amenities for Diamond Members As a Diamond member, I have always been welcomed with small gestures that reflect the brand's commitment to its loyal customers. Unfortunately, with only a welcome pack with water on the first day upon arrival, there was no new bottle daily subsequently which I found disappointing, especially when compared to the service I’ve received at other hotels within the IHG chain.
I’d feedback to the hotel directly and was only offered compensation of 10,000 points, not even worth one night’s stay for such an expensive and long stay? I hope you can re-look into this and offer a reasonable and comparable compensation for this unpleasant stay for my 6 nights. I had been continuously staying in IHG group of hotels for so many years worldwide, this is the first time I had felt so disappointed.. Can IHG really look into this case and give us a better response?

Overall, my stay at the Holiday Inn in downtown Calgary was less than impressing. First off, I booked the reservation last minute because the other hotel I was at wasn't good at all. So I booked this hotel last minute and let's say first off the price was ridiculous $670 for 4 nights when other hotels in the area were $550 and $588. Why is this $670 when the others are that price and same kind of hotel there not fancy ones. Secondly, the fact my room key was finicky opening the door and took at times 3 attempts is ridiculous. Fix your technology and have it working. Lastly, talking to your manager isnt helpful. She couldn't resolve anything. She said about price talk to Holiday Inn directly I can't fix it. About the door key being finicky she said this has never happened when in fact it did happen with another couple a couple of nights ago. Another situation is the laundry machine only taking coins. We live in 2025, how does your laundry machine only take coins. When I asked the "manager" about it she said there new. New machine only taking coins. Install a card option. Overall, your manager isn't helpful. Holiday Inn please get back to me and I want to speak with head office directly. I'm a silver member which means I stay more than 10 nights a year. This kind of treatment is unacceptable.

I chose this specific hotel during an out of town basketball tournament for my daughter. I chose it bc her younger brother had his birthday that weekend and wanted to swim and eat at the restaurant in the hotel. This was his first birthday without his father (passed September 2024). I wanted to make it a bit special. The hotel room was very clean! However the amenities was not able to be used. The pool states on the website “heated pool”. The pool was colder than an ice plunge and when brought up at the front desk she stated “there’s nothing I can do about that”. He jumped in and jumped right back out. I specifically called ahead and they said “pool IS heated but no hot tub”. I’m fine with that. I usually stay at *ilton hotels and heated means HEATED! Laundry facilities was one washer and one dryer and the dryer was not drying! The website states complimentary laundry detergent but when asked for some at the front desk, they sell it at their small store, it’s not free. I had my own but didn’t have a dryer sheet/laundry softener. Then later on that evening I find out that there will be NO bar and no restaurant leaves that last reasons as to why we stayed at this specific facility. No pool, no restaurant, no bar…might as well been at the red roof bc I assume we pay for these things to be up and running. Just all around bad experience with Holiday Inns lately. My next hotel next week IS absolutely booked with *ilton, just too bad my sons birthday weekend was a bust. I won’t trust Holiday Inn anymore. Always an issue NO MATTER WHICH LOCATION IVE STAYED AT! I have 7 more out of state tournaments and probably not going to book a Holiday Inn. SMH. The only plus to this hotel was its location near the Sports Complex.

I had to go back out in the rain to retrieve my license plate number. Will not stay here again due to paying to park in hotel parking lot and rudeness of staff.

I've stay for 4 nights in what is supposed to be a good hotel. The staff that takes care of bags and cleaning rooms is very friendly and helpful. All the others - on the check in and on the phone were rude and not helpful at all. I could hear everything my neighbours speak, listen to, steps, everything. One night they were watching TV and I could even understand the sentences. I've called and offered myself even to change rooms, the answer was very cold - all the rooms are the same. So all the rooms are noisy? They also said they would call me when the room was ready, I didn't receive the call and decided to go to the front desk. I was suprised when they said the room was ready, but not sure why i didn't receive the call. Anyway, I always think that the way you deliver the message is everything and the deliverable was not nice. Will not stay again.

Stayed at the hotel from 3rd April'2025 to 5th April'2025. While check out I requested for a physical copy of the hotel bill after payment but the same was refused, saying it will be sent by email. As of 16th April'2025, no bill copy is received. Only one email received from hotel with button for hotel bill, but upon clicking the button, next message is cannot get bill contact hotel. Cannot understand why an International Hotel Chain refuses physical copy of Hotel bill and neither sends it by email.
I am a member of IHG One Rewards as well.
PLease send copy of the bill at the earliest.

So disappointed. Having stayed here before we decided to return. We particularly enjoyed the light airy restaurant area where you could have a nice relaxed meal from an extensive menu. When we arrived we were concerned that a different name was on top of the hotel. We parked up and managed to find a space - even though a huge section was cordoned off and unavailable. Sign to reception indicated it was round the back. We headed to an open door but were unsure where to go. There was a large group of staff congregated around the door. When they moved we could see they were in front of a reception sign. Reception was dark and dingy. Receptionist was welcoming and checked us in, and directed us to the lifts. We had to go through an area that was flanked by sheets of plastic and sticky tape. We found our room and noticed that next to it was a room blocked off with black cardboard and sticky tape. Room itself was absolutely fine, clean, with comfy beds and everything we needed for a one night stay. We scanned the QR code and spent a while looking through the menu and chose our preferences. Having gone downstairs we discovered that rather than the lovely airy place we remembered and had been promised online, instead it was a dark boxy room at the back of the hotel. It was empty and had no ambience and we were shown to a table and given a menu. This menu was a shadow of the menu we saw in the room - probably a quarter of the items were now available. Our choices had disappeared. We left and ate elsewhere. Apparently as the menu change happened at a weekend guests were not advised. Whilst it is inevitable that hotels update and have building works sometimes - at least warn your customers. The website was still showing the lobby and restaurant as it was on our last visit when we booked a short while ago. No mention of building works, restricted parking, closing of restaurant and new menu. Even the info in the room was completely wrong!! They could have put an advisory on the website, and advised when booking of the restrictions. I had 2 emails inviting me to upgrade in the week before the booking but no mention of the changes. No mention was made at reception when we checked in. No amended menu was displayed in the room or outside the restaurant area until later in the evening. Breakfast was fine but again in the dark dingy box room. We did have our car park refunded when we expressed our concerns on checkout. The way they went about this and blindsided us showed total lack of respect for their guests. I prefer to stay at hotels that actually provide what you book or advise of changes. Most definitely will not go there again.
