This was the first Holiday Inn that I would not return to. The walls were paper thin everywhere so our sleep was disturbed by the sound of cars driving, and the people running around at 1 am upstairs. We did not have our room serviced int the 3 days we stayed. The television didn't work and the carpets looked dingy/dirty. The lighting was poor. The one guy who works there is fantastic and he will help with anything you asked. So we had the same guy who checked us in and generally worked at the front desk also, take our breakfast order in the restaurant, bring towels to our room when we called down, and allowed got us a bottle opener. He's an exceptional employee and they are fortunate to have him.

The hotel overall was awesome, the staff were very friendly. Great Location in the heart of Portland. Becky's Diner is just down the hill for an awesome meal.

The only issue was the Room and getting someone to fix it. (was never fixed)
Our meetup involved costumes, which are bulky and hot.. so we need the A/C to work in the rooms. I was one of the lucky people to have a room with a broken A/C / Heater unit, so it was stuck at a Constant, humid 76 degrees. Didn't matter what we did with the thermostat, the A/C unit just stayed off. I reported the issue to the front desk multiple times throughout the weekend. Thursday to Monday, and no one showed up. So.. our stay was only saved by the 6 portable fans we brought to move the air around in the room.
The experience was bad in the room.

I stayed for 10 weeks for a work trip. The rooms were dated and my air unit was letting out a ton of moisture. They said they checked it and it was fine but it would have so much the tile floor would be wet and slippery

I've been a Holiday Inn customer for decades. My experience has been good.
This time, my stay could have been better.
To start with, the hotel is next to a cemetery. That situation, for me, isn't the most pleasant.
The air conditioning thermostat was located between a wall and the closet and couldn't be read because it was on its side.
When I turned on the faucet, it came out chocolate brown. The same thing happened with the toilet.
When I asked for my checkout, the front desk told me they couldn't give it to me. They would send it to me by email. That never happened.
My checkout was around 5 a.m. The front desk person was asleep in the hotel lobby and had a space heater because she was cold. I don't understand why this happened. It was visible to everyone.
The system did not allow me to Upload the photos.
I think they need to review these issues.

This Holiday Inn Express was excellent! Bed was very comfortable, room was clean, coffee was available even late at night. Staff was very friendly. All of the above including the location made this a great stay after our family traveled 13 hours.

we stay here a couple times a month and find the staff always friendly and helpful while the location is perfectly located for Disney but far enough away to have a quiet atmosphere. I love that every room has a balcony so I can sit out and enjoy the fresh air. There are restaurants nearby which is helpful or you can eat at the hotel.

Taking out language that would make a bad review. Do not stay here as the stay is not responsible to for the companies promotions and mistakes. People have died becaue of these policies

Paid online for breakfast to be added to the room. UNLESS you scroll through about two other pages that adding BREAKFAST to your room in the price, that you will find that it is only good for two people. I purchased the suite which is basically the highest level of room for this hotel and did not include breakfast for more than two people although it will sleep at least four people. I was travelling with three for this trip.
Morning of breakfast. In the main common area there was hardly anything and we were told to go into a separate room that had a little more options for the breakfast, but to please be quick as this was supposed to be a private event room. We went in there and it was nothing fancy just a mediocre breakfast buffet that ultimately between my son, wife and I got potatoes, eggs, and maybe something else.
We were chased down, that on our reservation, that only two breakfasts were included. Again. this point was hidden within the website. I explained to the front desk that I didn't think that I should pay any Extra $15 for a simple breakfast of eggs and potatoes and the staff simply would not help or understand that it was the companies fault and they were liable. I paid for a room up to four people with the breakfast option paid and nothing was presented again unless you clicked on several links to tell you that it only covered two people.
This was the first hotel that as a loyal member and a legitimate claim that the staff sucked and was not helpful. I would not recommend this hotel based on their ability to comprehend a fault on their part. They will make you feel stupid although after investigation that it would be a fault on the company.
Worse Hotel That I Have Stayed At Because Of Staff
Also, this was a deceptive practice on IHG that I was disappointed whit and may seek further legal action against for false advertisement.
