Bad experience from the check in counter onwards. Be it recognition and greeting and the bill is also in a mess.
Did not check properly and make too much assumptions and lousy service, only lips service.

Holiday Inn Express – In The Middle of Everything New Orleans Located in the Central Business District of Downtown , the newly redesigned Holiday Inn Express® New Orleans Downtown hotel is 2 blocks from the Mercedes Benz Superdome and Smoothie King Center, and only 3 blocks to Canal Street featuring the French Quarter. If driving to visit us, we do offer on-site parking in/out privileges for an additional charge of $34.00/night plus tax. Our comfortable and modern accommodation is your wonderful choice for both business and leisure travels. Within walking distance to almost everything a guest comes to New Orleans to see, the hotel borders the French Quarter, is in the heart of New Orleans’ Central Business District and is an ideal setting for business travelers, also home to Shell Oil Company and Entergy Corporation. Hotel an sich in Ordnung, Frühstück auch ok für amerikanische Verhältnisse. Gute Lage, aber Pool war dreckig, von dem Teppich im Zimmer rede ich lieber nicht. Eine Sache fanden wir allerdings unglaublich und das im negativen Sinne! Kurz vor 10 waren wir aufgrund des Fliegers schon da (Nachtflug), Check In war erst um 15 Uhr. Die Empfangsdame war sehr unfreundlich und ignorant. Es gab keine Möglichkeit auch nur ein wenig früher ein Zimmer zu bekommen, obwohl Check Out bereits um 11 Uhr ist. Das Housekeeping wäre noch nicht fertig, tatsächlich wurde aber gewartet, bis das ganze Hotel gereinigt war und nicht nur einzelne Zimmer. Meiner 65jährigen Mutter ging es wegen Flug und Hitze nicht gut, sie musste sich in der Lobby hinlegen, interessiert hat das niemanden! Wir haben tatsächlich, trotz höflicher Nachfragen, über 5 Stunden warten müssen, bis wir ein Zimmer bekamen und dann auch erst nach dem Schichtwechsel und der Übergabe! So ging es an diesem Tag vielen Gästen, welche sich alle darüber beschwerten. So etwas habe ich noch nie erlebt! Zumindest ein bisschen früher geht immer! Das nennt man Service. Kein Vergleich mit dem Holiday Inn Express in San Francisco!
Wir waren in New Orleans vom 30.3. bis 3.4. Danach in Miami durften wir übrigens 2,5 Stunden früher ins Zimmer. Ich würde dieses Hotel definitiv nicht nochmal buchen!

Hotel is new. Stayed for thirteen days. Of which four days did not get room serviced. I was out of my room every day by 10 am. Most days did not return to room until after 8 pm. Nice hotel, I'm not sure. But I think they need to hire more housekeepers.

I have previously stayed in Holiday Inn Express hotels, and enjoyed those experiences. However there were several issues that spoiled my stay at this one. The first issue occurred on the second day of my stay when the HVAC unit in the living room area of my suite stopped working upon my return that evening. I decided to wait until the next morning to report it to the front desk, as the unit in the bedroom was sufficient for the night. The failed unit was never repaired. The electrical outlet by the bathroom vanity never functioned, which I considered a minor inconvenience, but I reported it during checking out. The k-cups for the Keurig machine were not always replenished. The TV remotes did not always function properly.
However the bed was very comfortable, as were the sofa & chair in the living room area of the suite. The breakfast included both hot & cold choices, juices, pastries, breads and plenty of coffee. The overall condition of the hotel was clean and pleasant. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
In conclusion, this is a good hotel that needs more attention to detail by Management.

Booked a hotel block here for our wedding guests. We were told there would be no issues with early check in, however, many of our guests were met with rude service when asking to check in early and a fee - which they never told us or indicated to anyone when they called.
Thursday night was met with at least six of our guests, including myself, having no hot water to shower with and staff essentially giving us no repararions or even indication they cared.
Saturday was met with staff children running through the lobby and massive leaks from the second floor onto the first.
I am genuinely embarassed we selected this hotel for our block.

I am a rewards member with the company and out of all locations this one was disgusting. They never cleaned our room and once the issue was brought up they said the next time we decide to stay again they would then do better. I mist mention this was brought up the second day of our 5 day stay. The floor in our room was filthy and our bare feet were covered in black gunk. The bed gave my partner hives and red bumps because of its filthy stained sheets we got since we were refused a different room.
By the time of us checking out, we had 20 minutes left to leave and half way going to pack they locked our keys so we could not get back inside our room to grab the last 2 of our bags. I walked all the way to the front for them to tell me we would have to purchase another night to reactivate the keys. After a long argument with the staff member at the front desk they had someone else come over to then have them ACTUALLY give us access to the room again.
Was very disgusted and very upset.

The Candlewood Suites York, PA Newest Extended Stay Hotel Is Close to Everything!
Stay with us on your next visit to Pennsylvania. We are situated less than a mile east of I-83. Our hotel's location is near Hershey, Harrisburg, Lancaster and Gettysburg.
Guests with children visiting Hershey Park can easily add the Turkey Hill Experience and Dutch Wonderland to their stops as we are in close proximity to all three! From our location you can easily plan a day trip to Historic Gettysburg. There you can explore the battlefields, monuments and be transported back in time as you walk the streets in one of America's most well preserved historic towns.

I will write a review on this hotel every chance I get.
Let me preface my review by saying that I spend, on average 250 days a year at IHG hotels. I have been a guest at this location twice before. While the accommodations were not luxe, in the past, they were a fair value for the dollar. New management was in place for this visit and the kindest thing I could say about the hotel is that it seems to have become a rent by the hour hotel. Plastic under the sheets and the removal of the lounge chair prompted me to call the mgr., he indicated that the plastic was for bedwetters, not bedbugs. The stove top did not work and was filthy and disgusting. Generally the place was a mess. Avoid at all costs. The manager had been there for a month and went on vacation on my second day, for a week lol, the front desk person could not effectively communicate in English, so I had to speak with a housekeeper to resolve my issues. He was due back on a Saturday, then Sunday and then Monday. I had to eventually call iHG. I moved to a less expensive hotel nearby and it was like night and day.

This is not the best experience from start to finish. My son is in a travel sport and I have been loyal to the Holiday Inn Express brand for the past 10 years. Having said that, I can only remember one other time that I was disappointed in a stay at a HIX and I was not THIS disappointed. It began at check in. The elevator was out so I had to carry my luggage up the stairs. I have a disability so this was more difficult for me than it would have been for others, I am sure. Thankfully, I was placed on the 2nd floor. I asked for a discount and was told I would received on at check in. I also asked to leave a key for my son and his girlfriend and I left their names. They were hanging out with his cousin who is a student at nearby Butler University for a little bit. I went to the room and attempted to complete some work, but as I was working, I noticed a wad of hair stuck to the wall next to the desk (see picture). This matched the hairs that remained behind in the bathtub/shower. I found it difficult to concentrate. I tried to go to bed but the noise from the freeway was intense. I do not typically have trouble with this, but it was really loud. I use a headband with earphones in them and could hear the noise over the headphones.
Meanwhile, my son and his girlfriend attempted to retrieve the keys from the front desk and he was harassed by the receptionist and she refused to allow him to retrieve the keys even though he gave her his name. She demanded his ID. He did not have it on him. He left it in my car. She did not tell me he would need to it to retrieve his key or I would have told him and/or his girlfriend. Thankfully, I left his girlfriend's name and she had her ID, but the receptionist continued to be rude and disrespectful to my son. He is not one that I have ever gotten complaints about his behavior, so I never worry about his interacting with anyone. The interaction was so bad that he was upset about it for days.
Upon checkout, I saw that I was not given the discount I was promised and had to asked the morning receptionist for one again. Thankfully, she provided one, but the elevators were still not working. The morning receptionist also apologized for the nighttime receptionist and offered a possible reasoning for her behavior towards my son, but that only served to sound like an excuse. In all, I am grateful that it was a one-night stay and while we will be driving through and staying to see my nephew often over the next 4 years, I will never stay in this facility again.
