Pros: Nice hotel with kind customer service
Cons: It smelled like a dog kennel at the entrance and in my room. I sprayed my perfume to defuse the smell.

The elevators were all bad

First elevators would not take u to the first floor middle elevators took you to all floors but the one u pushed and back elevators were totally out. I walked so much my bag busted open in the hall 3 ppl walked over me without helping me and the front desk couldn’t supply quarters for laundry.

Comfortable bed

Best part of the hotel is the beds. Some of the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the job. That being said I made reservations for a specific style of room and it wasn't available for 3 days after I arrived.

Did not sleep or eat well

There was no notice of construction before arriving to the hotel. I arrived late at night and went straight to my room. I was pretty exhausted so I didn't notice much of anything. In the morning the breakfast was a very limited selection of packaged items due to the construction and coronavirus pandemic. By the second night I was more aware of the room and it's issues. The air conditioning did not seem to work and was very noisy. I slept in the bed closest to the air conditioning but did not sleep all at all.

This hotel is tired and needs a refresh.

Upon arriving I noticed the parking lot was not well maintained. The staff was fine. When walking to the room I noticed the halls smelled of cigarette smoke and urine. The carpets are deeply stained. The room itself was also a disappointment. There is a minifridge and a microwave but no utensils or coffee pot in the room. The bed had nothing but white sheets on it. No bed cover and the mattress was extremely firm and uncomfortable. The bathroom was really bad. The toilet did not work and had to be flushed repeatedly to clear. Their was no hot water at 7 AM. I originally booked the room for a week but left the next morning and booked another room with a competitor about 2 blocks away which was a night and day difference for about the same cost.

Staff Needs to Step It Up

I stayed here a year & a half ago, and had a good experience, so I thought I'd try it again. This time, things went south beginning with check in.
My profile requests a 1st floor room, and if not available, a lower floor. I also put this request in when I made the reservation on ihg.com. The man at the desk immediately assigned me to the top floor, at the end of the hall - in other words, the room in that building that is the farthest away from the front exit. I told him No, and when he wouldn't budge, I told him he could cancel the reservation. He then put me in an 'Accessible' room on the 2nd floor.
The door to the room was damaged and I had to give it a good hip bump to open it. The water in the shower would only dribble out, and the water in the sink took way too long to warm up. Also, this room had two windows with electric window shades. One of the shades would not close. I called the front desk and they moved me to another room.
In the second, actually third room, the fridge was inop. Yes, it was plugged in and the temp was adjusted to full cold. Had to call the front desk again. Their solution was to have it looked at the next day while I was out. I came back from work the next day and had a working fridge. With the lack of open restaurants and junk food the only eat out/take out/pickup options available, a working fridge to keep healthy food choices from the grocery store is essential.
The day after that first night, house keeping came in and did their thing, and did a good job. The second day they did nothing. I called the front desk, again. I was told I could come down and get fresh towels if I wanted.
Breakfast was a joke - grab bags, handed to you by someone that was clueless about what she should be doing. Coffee was empty - usually, it's available 24 hrs a day. Not this time. Next two mornings, there was nobody available to staff the breakfast area.
By this time, I'd had it. I checked out and moved to other accommodations. I understand about the CV19 stuff and the limitations that it places on everyone, but this is a time to step up your game, not go backwards.

Cleaner than the last hotel I stayed at for business in this area.
But would have liked more assurance that the room was cleaned specifically for the virus - such as, was the remote for TV sanitized, was the phone sanitized? When I needed front desk help because TV would not come on - was afraid to use the phone in room. Were the door knobs and light switches wiped down?
