Great Hotel

Great Hotel, friendly efficient staff, slight out of the hustle and bustle of central Singapore but with excellent taxi's and public transport mad for a great few days break.

Excellent decor, Comfortable room, great service

My two days stay was a pleasurable experience from check in thru check out. The classy interiors, the amazing setup in the room, the comfortable bed...the friendly staff..all contributed to this very high rating. Definitely will stay here again

Excellent Service, Comfortable Stay

We had a great experience right from the start, greeted warmly by Front Desk staff Anukaa. She was polite and were able to handle my requests promptly.
We loved the room. It was spacious and we loved the bathroom area very much. We also really appreciate the little touches to localize the experience (Peranakan theme) Bed and pillows were comfy!
The pool area is fantastic as well though it was a little too windy.
The hotel is also conveniently situated near many restaurants and malls.
Highly recommend!

Very Pleasant Surprise

The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport (SIN) by taxi. The ride cost about $20 USD. I enjoyed a city view room with a king bed on an upper floor with breakfast included for a three day visit. The price was reasonable, the staff was cheerful, the room clean and neat, and the food at the attached restaurant, tasty. The hotel is located within walking distance of shopping, dining, and entertainment. I enjoyed the large beachfront park about 15 min walk from the hotel. The view of many assorted ships in the straits was impressive. The beach was clean and very well suited for swimming. There were many small vendors and restaurants serving traditional food that were reasonably priced along the way. I felt very comfortable and secure making my way through the neighborhoods on foot. Everything I needed was either available at the hotel or at the "112 Katong" shopping center one block away. My only criticism, is the manner in which the shower and basin area is separated from the main room with a three section sliding door that closes off the floor to ceiling view of the city to anyone else in the room.. I had a great time and will happily return to this hotel any time I return to Singapore

Weekend Staycation

The hotel had a beautiful Peranakan design, and was close to many eateries. The rooms were nicely done, and I was surprised to see egg benedicts and rosti for breakfast at Baba Chews which I felt was excellent. In addition, breakfast was made to order just like the club lounge at Intercontinental Singapore. I felt the hotel was pretty well-done in these aspects.
Although I was greeted as a Spire Elite Member at the hotel, I was not provided with a room upgrade (room with bathtub) even though I had specifically requested for it at check-in. I had checked the room's availability on the app during the check-in, and noted that there were available rooms which was a mere 1 category upgrade from what I had booked. Since it was not a special occasion and rooms were available, I should have been offered an upgrade upon my request. However, no upgrade was offered, and I only received 5 biscuits, 2 chocolates, and a palm-sized amount of fruits.
That got me thinking why I should attain a Spire Elite status for almost no benefits at all in this hotel. I mean yes, the design is great, the food is good, and I get lip service for my status. However, I feel no different from a club level or non-IHG member at this hotel. I love staycations, but will not return again unless I would like to visit the eateries in Katong. Other IHG hotels fare better in recognising and rewarding me for staying with them.

The level of hospitality is impeccable and exemplery! It was my 2nd time staying at the hotel as there were renovation work that was ongoing back at home, and the hotel certainly made me feel at home!
