Poor experience

Very poor experience.
When I returned for the night, I found out that front desk had checked me out of my room, although I had it for another night.

Quality of breakfast was poor - only one yogurt left. Burnt sausage. No coffee.

No water in fitness room.

Not helpful or friendly when asked about tax exempt.

I am loyal IHG member and expect better.

Would not recommend

We booked our room through the app. We should have had two queen beds and were given a single king bed room. Showers were cold, the toll away bed that they brought in was uncomfortable for my son, the restaurant food was good, but burgers and appetizers only. If it wasn’t for the snowmobile races that were hosted in front of the hotel, we would have stayed elsewhere.

Not the holiday inn experience you’d expect.

We booked a two queen suite and when we arrived we were told they’d have to give us two one bed suites down the hall from each other we have three small kids this was very inconvenient. Then it was in the teens outside and one of our rooms thermostat wouldn’t move off 64 and the tv was broke in this room as well. Then the other rooms hot water and outlets wouldn’t work. Anytime I would speak to one of the employees about an issue we had the other one would cut in and just say well too bad we can just give their money back mind you I was not being ugly about anything I’m pretty easy going and we were over three hours from home as a member this is the worst experience I’ve ever experienced.

Incorrect charges

Checked out on 2/14 and noticed I was charged at the dining area and to my room for breakfast that morning. I have receipts and double charges to my card. The reservation included parking and I was charged for parking again at check out. I have called to get a refund or to speak to someone and all I am being told is to just call my bank instead because they can’t refund me. I’m not sure what is going on here but it seems like they scam people with extra charges.

A Disappinting Experience

My recent stay at the hotel was far from the pleasant experience I had anticipated. From the moment I checked in, it became apparent that the hotel was undergoing construction—a detail that had not been communicated to me beforehand. My room number was handwritten on a piece of masking tape above the door. To add to the frustration, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. The carpets were stained and the entry landing had not been mopped. The bathroom had visible grime. The TV remotes did not work. I was not provided with bath towels and had to dry off after my shower with hand towels. The microwave was sitting on top of the refrigerator (very unstable). It was clear that housekeeping had not given the room the attention it required. Despite raising these concerns with the hotel staff, there was little effort made to rectify the situation. The front desk offered no apologies or solutions, and any requests for a room change were met with indifference. It was a deeply disappointing experience, and one that certainly did not meet the standards expected of a reputable hotel. I respectfully asked the hotel manager to reinstate my 17,000 points to my IHG account and as to date, it has not been debited back to my account.

Training Needed

1. I accidentally booked trough a third party, I was using my phone instead of my computer and did not realize I was not on the ihg website. They would not give my points. I always book through the ihg website but again this was an accident.

2. Checked in, got my key and went to the room to discover that the keys would not work. Went back to the front desk had my keys redone and went back to the room. Open the door to discover people already in the room. Scared the heck out of them. Went back to the front desk and told them what happened and they were very nonchalant about it and gave me a new room.

3. Went to the restaurant for dinner and had to keep my coat on because it was so cold. They server was also wearing a sweater and gloves while working.

4. Whenchecking out I mentioned what had happened the night before when checking in. I was told that I needed to understand that they were busy that evening during check ins.

5. I ask if I was getting my points and was told the they would put my Member number in and I would receive my points. I did not get any points. I had 2 rooms that night.

NOT recently refurbished

I was really disappointed in my stay at this particular Staybridge Suites. I wish I had read the reviews ahead of time, but I had never had a bad experience with this brand before, so I didn't do my due diligence. I usually love staying with this brand and I travel a lot. I saw a note saying this one had been recently refurbished, but that wasn't my experience. I may have been on the wrong floor and it hadn't been done yet. My room had a bad odor, there was paint peeling off the bathroom door, the curtains were falling off the window rods and wouldn't stay on, the intake screen on the heater/air conditioner was covered in grime and dust, the kitchen had only a couple of plates and cups, the TV didn't play PBS even though it was listed, the bathroom electrical socket didn't work, the hallway carpets were shabby, etc. The staff was nice and apologetic, the bed was comfortable, the shower was good. I moved to the Staybridge in Flowood after a few nights instead of staying 3 weeks, and I was much happier and felt cleaner.

The hotel was a good place to stay. The staff ignored me when I requested housekeeping come to my room as it appeared I was skipped somehow. Despite three requests no one ever came and when I complained to management I got no help.

Moldy shower and overpriced drinks.

As the title implies, the shower in our room had mold in several places. I took pictures but this review form does not let you post pictures. The check in process was smooth and the staff were friendly. My pizza at the bar was good and my wife's meal was good as well. What shocked me once we received our bar bill was that they actually charge $28 for a double Jameson and ginger ale. I was at a competing establishment in Coco Beach a few nights later and was only charged $20 for a double of top shelf Buffalo Trace.

Friendly staff, great breakfast.

Really excellent staff and the breakfast was the best I’ve had for a free hotel breakfast. Check-in was super fast and easy. This hotel does not have a hot tub. Some of the booking sites indicate that it does, so make sure you double check. We also did not have hot water at any time during our stay. I’m sure this is due to a problem and not a common issue.
