New but not yet well prepare

I was thrilled to learn about the new VOCO hotel in Chiayi City and eagerly anticipated my stay. However, while the hotel aligns with the VOCO brand’s values, there is certainly room for improvement, especially given that it’s still a new establishment.

Service quality can vary based on personal experiences. The staff are quite new, and while I’m confident they will improve with more training, they are not quite there yet.

Regarding the facilities, I was disappointed to find that bathtubs are only available in family rooms for four people. Unfortunately, there are no options for rooms with a tub for two people, making it inconvenient for solo business travelers or couples. Additionally, the bathroom lacks sufficient hangers; there’s only one hanger for a bath towel on the wall, and another can only be placed on the handrail. There’s no designated spot for smaller towels or bathrobes, which is an issue that VOCO Chiayi should address.

As for breakfast, it felt more in line with Holiday Inn standards rather than what one would expect from the VOCO brand. The breakfast area was overcrowded, and food trays were frequently empty. The bread section was particularly problematic, as it was placed on a folding table that encroached into the aisle, making it inconvenient to access the food.

Overall, while there are acceptable aspects of this new hotel, especially considering its recent opening, there are clear areas for improvement to fully meet the VOCO brand expectations.

Nice indoor pool for kids and adults! Also a cute indoor play area with ball pit and books. Hotel is new and has really nice amenities including a super powerful hairdryer that’s better than Dyson! Definitely recommend the hotel but just know there isn’t much around the actual property.
