Came in from a long day of work to find the elevator was inoperative, I stayed on the third floor, middle of hotel. The hallway to the left of me was under construction and closed off either a big sign (no admittance). Which meant I walked to the left to the other end of the property to the stairs. Once arriving at the stairs I find a sign that says stay out under construction. This left me with no way to get to my room. I then walked back to the front and took the stairs to the second floor, (these stairs go no further), I then proceeded to the absolute other end of the property to finally get to the third floor and then had to walk back to the center of the property (right by the elevator) to my room.
Next morning I packed my belongings and found the conditions hadn’t changed.

In our first room, the bathroom doorknob was falling off and it made it very challenging to close the door. When we were able to get it closed, there were two times that the person who was in the bathroom was then not able to get out and someone outside the bathroom had to open the door. We complained the next morning to the person at the desk and we were told a repair man would come during the day to fix it. After being gone all day and getting back late, we went back to our room and discovered it had never been fixed. The person at the desk told us that we could move to the room across the hallway. After we moved all our things and our two young very tired children we discovered that every time the toilet was flushed, water poured out from by the tank and ran onto the floor, causing a large puddle. The shower curtain rod was also partway falling off the wall, making it difficult to keep the shower curtain closed. At that point it was too late to move all our things again and our kids were exhausted so we stayed in the room and complained to the person at the desk the next morning. That person (I believe it was the manager) told us that the person who we spoke to the morning before hadn’t written our complaint down in the notebook where complaints are supposed to be written, which is not our problem. When asked for a partial monetary refund, we were offered 250 IHG points which is essentially worth nothing. In addition to all those problems with the rooms, there were also ants crawling all around the pool. We plan to go back to Hershey again soon but will certainly never stay here again.

We discovered this property in Feb of 23 and fell in love. We did not realize we were on lakefront and we had a king suite. Was a terrific weekend.
We hoped to repeat in April of 25. We arrived excited to see we had been put in the same room as before. When we got to the 2nd floor we walked into construction chaos. boxes and materials everywhere. Barely able to squeeze luggage cart by. Our room and the opposite room were the only rooms on the floor NOT gutted. We could have gotten passed this----but the next morning at 8am when a full construction crew arrived to begin work. It was a SUNDAY! So much for our romantic weekend. I must say the lady at the front desk was compassionate and kind and apologetic. There was a man who said--- it was on the website...you were told at check in that we were in construction---but we neither saw on the site or were told. It was NOT safe to have this floor open at all! They allowed us to check out and we contacted corporate----but were still charged FULLY for the Sat night stay. We will be fighting that for sure! We will def give this property another chance after reno is complete---but this was not the weekend we had imagined or desperately needed!

The check in experience was horrible. This lady at the counter was not friendly at all. Not even a normal greeting. I didn't hear the Thank you for being a IHG member, wasn't offer any bottle of water as ammenity, she never looked me in the eye, she had her face all cover by a those kinnda sunhats and a facemask. I could bearly see her eyes, she never did any two part closing like a nornally get from all other places.

Front desk staff needs to be more welcoming and less “robotic”. Hotel is clean and comfortable and a decent value giver other local motels/hotels.
Room maid service is as we found out after a 3 night stay, by request only. That is unbelievably the worst response I could have imagined. So I inquired why did I not know that and the response from the front desk was, “you should have been told that at the time if check-in”. I reminded her she was the one who checked us in and the response was; “Sorry for your inconvenience”. Outside of the inconsiderate front desk it is a good place to stay and is a good value for its location

The views and location of this hotel on the Wharf are definitely its strongest features, and most of the staff were pleasant. However, we encountered several issues that made our stay less than ideal.

Upon arrival at 9am, the check-in experience was rocky—we were met with eye rolling and less-than-warm service. The $150 incidental charge per night was expected, but the surprise $35 resort fee (usable only at the bar or minibar) felt unnecessary.
While breakfast was included in our booking, there were billing errors that led to significant overcharges. I had to spend far too much time at the front desk sorting out charges for meals we didn’t have. It was eventually corrected, but it shouldn't have happened at all.
On top of that, 2 out of 3 elevators were out of service, making it inconvenient to get around.
Overall, the location and view are beautiful, but be prepared to keep a close eye on your bill

The beds were comfortable and the room was relatively clean. Breakfast options were good. The indoor pool was a plus. The exercise room was small, but adequate. We stayed on the fourth floor. The fourth floor is special because it is only half a floor. All elevators and staircases cannot access it. The most special thing about the fourth floor was there was NO WIFI ACCESS IN THE ROOM! You could get the signal (very weak) if you stood in the hall, but once you entered the room, it was gone. I felt like I was in a third world country. Front desk offered to switch rooms when I told them about it the following morning. I was only staying two nights, so I didn't bother. Now, I only have 10% of my data left and 15 days left in my cycle.

Holiday Inn® Lancaster hotel is just off the M6, with easy access to the Lake District. The shops and attractions of Lancaster are a 10-minute drive away. Alternatively, leave the car in the hotel's free car park and catch a bus to the town centre from the stop outside the hotel. Lancaster Station is served by direct trains to Manchester. Blackpool Airport (BLK) is 40 minutes' drive from the hotel.
The hotel is just 20 minutes' drive from the scenic Lake District National Park. A 10-minute drive from the hotel, the 12th-century Lancaster Castle is surrounded by parkland. Nearby, the riverside Lancaster Maritime Museum occupies a former warehouse. Morecambe Bay, 20 minutes' drive from the hotel, offers coastal walks and seafront cafés. Lancaster University is easily accessible and only a 15 minutes' drive from the hotel.
Business guests are 20 minutes' drive from Heysham Power Station. At the hotel, you can host meetings for up to 100 people in seven flexible conference rooms with AV equipment and free WiFi.
In the relaxed restaurant, start your day with a buffet breakfast, or enjoy an evening meal with family or colleagues. Stayed here on way home from Scotland
On arrival first thing you see is bins at front of hotel over flowing. Then when you get closer to hotel side window has been bored ip. Didnt get acknowledgement of being ihg diamond elit member. Put on 3rd floor. No lift working and wont be for some time. When pulled out sofa bed to use it had a childs wite blouse in it. Clearly not been cleaned. The tv didnt work it was pixels. Went for a drink and as a nice day decided to sit outside at the back and found yet more bins over flowing. Also suprised to see a childs play area nxt to area where you take glasses out. I would have thought health and safety surely plastic should only be allowed outside
The next morning at breakfast the same glssses were still outside on the table. Shocking
We went to use the leisure facilities to find no staff there and a message saying no towels use ones from pur room
We went back later instead to find the hotel nor leisure centre had had a delivery which meant our towels in room would be wet if we used them and needed in the morning
Also didn't see amy signs saying pool closes 8.30 as all we saw was
Notices saying last entry 1hr prior to close
Hadn't been in ong saw 30 mins and we had to get out. Disappointing
Breakfast layout was nice and plenty of choice however to try and use the small tables in. The bar for breakfast overflow was crazy as small tables. Certainly not suitable for 4 people. The bar atea is a small bar
On departure wasnt even asked if everything was OK with stay extremely disappointed.

This property has a nice lobby, dut the rooms are disgusting. Had it not been so late when I arrived I would have left for a different hotel. The first room had a water damaged and crumbling cieling and what looked like bullet holes in the tub. The second room was slightly better but had loud traffic noise and a draft due to large gaps in the window seals. Both rooms were filthy by any standard. The only thing that appeared to be clean were the sheets. We weren't going to sit on the couch or desk chair due to disgusting looking stains.

Disappointing service and room has a Murphy bed which was a total disaster. Absolutely no room to walk around the bed when it’s down and the bed is way too small. Can’t teach anything beside the bed. Constantly fighting the bathroom door closer that slams shut. Avoid this property at all cost!
